Job Description

The Manager of Business Operations and Analytics is responsible for leading a team to provide and continuously improve reporting, analysis, and forecasting to drive sales and profitability. Responsible for market and competitive analysis, sales and commodity trends, cost operational matrices, and business/distributor analysis, including interpreting data and making recommendations based upon the research findings. Provide support to other functions, including CRM, channel, marketing, finance, product divisions, and other support functions for the organization. Drives profit planning activity in the region by working with Finance, Corporate, Operations, SCM and HR to develop bottoms-up framework for profit planning.

 

Business/Sales Operational Excellence

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of the Sales Operations Strategy for the Americas ensuring alignment with Hydraulics Americas goals.

  • Partner with sales, marketing, operations, product management, and other leadership to develop and strategically prioritize business requirements in order to improve commercial operations

  • Define and drive transformation from existing to new commercial organizational design, processes, capabilities, culture, and tools

  • Seek out opportunities for and manage commercial operations-related continuous improvement with relevant stakeholders using lean/six sigma methodologies

  • Lead/facilitate cross functional business processes improvement projects to support the Field Sales operation. Own the development and deployment of initiatives and tools focused on improving sales force productivity and efficiency. (ex. Territory design, Cost Out VA/VE, Lead management, IT projects, systems and tools)

  • Represent Sales Operations on Corporate or Industrial Sector steering committees or councils as required

  • Provide timely performance feedback, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports. Continually improve the capacity of the Sales OPEX organization through ongoing development plans and the identification and deployment of top talent
    Lead Customer communication (Lead times, operations updates, etc)

 

Business Analytics

  • Lead a team to analyze and evaluate sales, market & product data, and operational activities.

  • Ensure the required information is presented in a format that enables management to make informed decisions and assessments of the business performance. Evaluate results and work with leadership to establish actions to close gaps.

  • Identifies and drives key growth analytics initiatives for the region. Selects top priority growth areas and support in other initiatives (if needed)

  • Work with sales leadership team to establish annual goals, metrics and KPI’s to align with profit plan goals and performance expectations, including Tier reviews

  • Develop and execute monthly/weekly business insights for teams - commodity reports, sales trends, $/unit, growth rates, etc.

  • Leverage market, competitive, and sales data to develop business case and project management of short and long-term improvement plan

  • Provide timely and accurate monthly reporting packages including in-depth analysis and recommendations to accelerate short and long-term sales growth.

  • Attend industry events to obtain consumer insights. Use these insights to inform analysis.

  • Leverage Product Management information to recommend product changes/eliminations.
    Identify positive and negative sales trends and drive countermeasure actions with the sales and marketing teams

  • Ad hoc analysis & recommendations as requested by leadership and provide project management expertise as needed.

  • Analysis of new markets to help develop the business case, product plans, and set $/unit goals.
    Coordinate and ensure focus on key momentum segments in the region. Oil and Gas, Construction, and Agriculture, etc.

  • Leads market intelligence activities for the region.

  • Develops market tracking framework to implement in the region for regular updates on market development.

  • Works closely with sales managers to keep track on market growth.

  • Consolidates regional market information on periodic basis and report as and when needed.

  • Regularly tracks key developments in focus segments, customers, competitors, economy etc. on day to day basis (setting multiple market alerts) and continuously updates key competitive data for the region.

 


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering discipline from an accredited institution

  • 10 years of experience in Business, Marketing, or Engineering

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of management experience
