Technology Project Specialist

 

Your key deliverables:

  • Leads the development of fuel sub-system and component research & development programmes , including interface and equipment requirements

  • Co-ordinates internal and external resources and provides technical leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary engineers such that projects are delivered to specification, on time and to budget

  • Ensures that technical, regulatory and commercial requirements are properly understood by the technical project team and that the design implementation meets these requirements

  • Acts as the technical point of contact for the customer and to improve customer relations.

  • Reviews and authorises technical documentation in accordance with company procedures

  • Leads the technical project team through the development lifecycle of the programme up to and including TRL6, including ensuring PreLaunch/ProLaunch/ACES Engineering activities are completed

  • Authorises estimates on work packages and the identification of risks with suitable mitigation.

  • Keeps up to date with latest aerospace technology especially that related to aircraft fuel system and general fluid management performance

  • Identifies emerging technologies that could be exploited in aircraft fuel and inerting systems.

  • Ensures systems engineering is deployed across hydro-mechanical, electrical, electronic & software activities

  • Chairs Non-Advocate Reviews, Design reviews, and Technical Meetings


Qualifications

Are you?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.  Advanced degree preferred

  • Experience with design processes, new product introduction and creative/innovative thinking
    Extensive engineering experience in a relevant professional engineering environment ideally gained in the aerospace or equivalent high technology industry.

  • Experience leading a multidisciplinary technical team

  • Experience generating, reviewing and authorising technical documentation

  • Proven experience of integrating hydro-mechanical, electrical, electronic & software technologies

  • Experience generating activity based project schedules

  • Knowledge of aircraft systems, particularly fuel, inerting and thermal management

  • Knowledge of ARP4754, ARP4761, DO-254 and/or DO178

  • Knowledge of compressible and non-compressible flow

  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical machines

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven track record of driving change

  • Professional manner and ability to work well with customers

  • Ability to present at internal and external technical and commercial reviews at senior level

  • Interest in new and emerging technologies

  • Ability to travel internationally (<20%) in support of design reviews, Non-Advocate Reviews, customer and supplier visits
