Eaton’s Hydraulis division is currently seeking a Sr. Opex Engineer to join our team.

This position is based at our Querétaro facility.

The Sr. Opex Engineer is responsible to mentor the departments and product lines and assist with the full deployment of the Continuous Improvement.  The successful implementation of these tools will enable the plant to achieve the quality, financial, customer, and delivery targets.

Some activities related with the position will be:

  1. Facilitating A3 problem solving

  2. Applying Eaton Lean tools

  3. Leading Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs)

  4. Advancing the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF)

  5. Designing future state value streams

  6. Developing manufacturing strategy and supporting manufacturing

  7. Contribute in the advancement of the organization in the Eaton Business System (ELSS V4.1 and OpA 2.1 Assessment Process.

  8. Analyze organizational metrics related to the OpEx on the Balanced Scorecard (relevant to the position) and perform periodical reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close the gaps at an operational level.

  9. Adhere to the budget of the Opex department.

  10. Develops strategic plan for the plant to exceed OpA/ELSS requirements.

  11. Facilitates the Plant Lean Council that consists of Business Team Leaders, Staff members, and Operational Excellence Leaders.  Council monitors CI tracker and OpEx BSC metrics and redirects activities and resources as needed to exceed requirements.

  12. Plans and deploys training to support Continuous Improvement Coordinators, TPM Coordinator, OEE

  13. Coordinator, and other ELSS and CIF Champions to sustain needed deployment levels at the Plant.

  14. Trains Kaizen team leaders to facilitate events.  Coordinates and drives a structured closure process on follow-up activities.

  15. Has the ability to lead and train diverse teams.

  16. Attains Plant Cost Out goals as established by Profit plan (BSC metric).

  17. Supports sharing of best practices as result of internal and external benchmarking activities

  18. Implements, promotes and maintains a safe work environment by implementing a culture of accidents prevention, investigation, equipment maintenance and application of rules. Identify, control and administer risk and danger in own area.

  19. Promotes the company’s mission and vision by actively supporting Eaton’s ethics and values as well as quality policies.

  20. Motivate and coach employees to maintain high levels of satisfaction, productivity, and quality through effectively utilizing available rewards and recognition channels to encourage and promote desired behaviors and results.

Required Qualifications:

  • Industrial Engineering degree or related fields required. (Quality, Statistics, preferred)

  • English – language capability, speaking, reading and writing required.

  • 3 years’ experience in lean manufacturing environment.

  • Six Sigma Black belt or Greenbelt

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools

  • Solid knowledge of engineering techniques & manufacturing processes

  • Through knowledge of statistics & statistical process control, including gauge repeatability & reproducibility studies

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process and basic machine tool concepts.

  • Knowledge of behavioral science, including the ability to motivate, counsel, and constructively deal with people at all levels.

  • Strong leadership skills, must be capable of leading their organization on a continuous journey of sustained improvement.

  • Knowledge and compliance with the standards that rules the IATF16949

  • Must be active in lifelong learning.  Actively increasing knowledge in Lean Manufacturing principles and deployment of them in both manufacturing and office settings.
