Lead Engineer - Design
Eaton’s Power Distribution & Controls Assemblies Division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer- Design to join our team! This position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility.
The Lead Engineer- Design will originate, develop, and check: complex mechanical and/or electrical design layouts, assemblies, test fixtures, detail and fabrication drawings, and/or schematic diagrams of products using computer-aided engineering systems. Lead the development of Aftermarket MCC unit designs to support the timely acquisition of new business. Apply proficient technical knowledge to design and develop assemblies through the application of diverse technical principles and practices. Direct the activities of detail drafters in support of the layouts established by higher-level designers / engineers. Create 3D CAD assembly models in support of the conceptual layouts.

You will create mechanical design layouts, assemblies and EBOMs for new products.
You will work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor.
You will develop unique mechanical drawing packages upon customer request.
You will provide technical assistance to manufacturing / engineering groups.
You will address and resolve issues that surface with little to no supervision
You will coordinate with different levels of the organization to ensure schedules are met.
You will demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects/assignments/duties
You will show proficient use of the ECN and Document Management Systems to process changes and implement new product information.
You will be capable of successfully managing complex projects to a timeline and following Eaton's PROLaunch process. These projects may include working directly with field sales or the end customer.
You will be capable of designing control circuits in support of the aftermarket MCC business.

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing engineering and/or product design engineering.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of Motor Control Centers and/or Package Control Assemblies through experience and/or education
- Experience designing Motor Control Centers
- Proficient in Inventor and other engineering and design software programs such as AutoCAD
- Understanding and application of drafting standards and techniques (using computer-aided engineering software)
- Capability to visualize components, features and assemblies in three-dimensional space
- Ability to use required engineering software tools (AutoCAD, Inventor, EBOM, etc.) and other common computer software (word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets, etc.)
