Deputy Manager Manufacturing Engineering

Job Description

Primary Function:-
  • Develop and implement reliable and cost effective manufacturing processes, document, maintain and support manufacturing processes and equipment that assure capable and reliable production of quality parts, provide guidance on manufacturing issues.
  • Direct and coordinate production activities with other supporting groups, and supervisory personnel, to ensure optimum operating and production objectives consistent with quality assurance requirements.

 Critical Outputs:-

  • Project planning, scheduling and implementation
  • APQP & PPAP process
  • Conduct investigation and research on new process and products
  • Establish part processing and implement processing and assembly of product to ensure the highest quality at the optimum production rate and the most economical cost
  • Review new part drawings and processes for proper utilization of machines
  • Continually evaluate safety, ergonomics, productivity and quality and improve process
  • Review and approve tool drawings from division, machine suppliers, tool vendors, etc.
  • Initiate and implement tool, fixture and part changes to improve product quality
  • Provide support for machine set-ups and training
  • Recommend and review new equipment purchases and plant layout to improve production
  • Evaluate new equipment run-off and current equipment performance using SPC
  • Process development and improvement including implementation of new processes and equipment

Essential Function:-

  • Knowledge of gear manufacturing and transmission assembly.              
  • Apply knowledge of fixture design and manufacturing
  • knowledge of APQP, PPAP and statistical process control problem-solving skills               
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Pro-E/Ideas for design                                                                    
  • Machine knowledge (programming, tooling and set-ups)


  • Bachelor’s  Degree in a Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering with 8-10 years’ experience  in a manufacturing environment working with machining & assembly equipment.
  • Knowledge in the areas of manufacturing processes (Gear machining & Assembly), statistical quality control and quality assurance, plant engineering, 6-sigma training, production/materials planning and systems.
