Eaton Corporation’s Industrial Control Division, (ICD) has an opening for a Sales Manager located in Fayetteville, NC  or Menominee Falls, WI to manage the Motor Control and Protection platforms for the Americas region.  


This position would include managing the day to day tactical direction of the motor control and protection sales teams as well as interaction with the field sales organization for all motor control and protection products. The Product Line Sales Manager is also responsible for the performance of the staff of applications and division sales engineers with regard to all aspects of project negotiation; interpretation of customer plans and specifications; product application; tactical and strategic planning; technical support; proposal preparation; interface with product line management; review of customer terms and conditions and price band management. Responsibilities also include order reconciliation, facilitation of order entry; and other customer requested functions as required to properly obtain rapid and profitable sales growth for the product line.

  • Meet or exceed the sales billed, orders entered and price (RPI) objectives of the product line by market segment as determined by manager in accordance with historical performance and available market data for assigned regions.

  • Establish, grow and maintain cooperative commercial relationships with present and potential customers. Effectively employ and train the staff to the highest level of skills specific to the art of salesmanship, application engineering and product knowledge. Expand the department knowledge of customers businesses, market segments and organizations. Clearly communicate the Motor Control & Protection product line and ICD strategic plans to the sales engineering staff, field sales and customers.

  • Plan, implement, execute and follow-up sales and marketing strategies within Americas Region.

  • Assume a leadership role in the formation and execution of sales plans with field sales through the evaluation of competitive product offerings and tactics. Drive the development of e-Tools and Bid Manager specific to product line initiatives. 

  • Monitor and report monthly on status of ongoing negotiations, orders entered, sales billed and negotiations lost. Report significant activities of competitive manufacturers related to products and price within assigned region(s).

  • Develop accurate monthly forecasts and report market trends in a timely and efficient manner. Report new product requirements and coordinate department efforts with the Product Managers for product development as needed.

  • Coordinate training, collects revenue as applicable from training seminars, and develop & deliver training collateral to both sales force and customers

  • Exhibit sound presentation skills in conducting training sessions for customers and field sales to promote the technical and manufacturing capabilities of the Motor Control & Protection product line.

  • Recommend and implement changes in procedures, policies, and methods that increase level of Customer Service and/or reduce costs.



Basic Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business

  • 5+ years of experience in the motor control or industrial automation industry.

  • Candidate must have previous experience in sales or marketing function

Position Criteria:
  • Candidate must possess knowledge of motor control or automation products.

  • Candidate must have excellent communication, problem solving, time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% for both internal and external meetings

  • Candidate must possess the ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring schematics and specifications.

  • Position requires the willingness to work in a team environment.

  • Position requires computer skills including Microsoft Applications.

  • Strong technical aptitude.

  • Must be experienced in facilitating customer meetings and delivering training presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with cross-functional global teams.

  • MBA degree or similar

  • Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment

  • Experience being a Manager of People (MOP)
