Eaton Lighting Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to join our development team, the ideal candidate will be a dynamic, talented and enthusiastic software engineer who wants to develop state of the art building management and energy profiling software for our lighting control systems. This role will involve direct, hands-on development of a suite of software applications used for lighting system commissioning and control. You will be helping enable our products for the IoT.
You will have a solid understanding of the full software development life-cycle. Strong OO and UML design abilities are a must as well as the ability to self develop. Ideally, you will also have experience of a modern software project management paradigm - such as Agile. The software team develops applications across multiple operating systems (Linux, Windows, Android, iOS) and programming langauges (C# and C++).
As a hands-on developer, you will be an experienced C# .NET developer with a focus and expertise in developing WinForms applications. Working with TCP / IP is a must, as well as effective and stable multi-threaded programming. Strong LINQ skills are desirable.
You would be expected to work closely with the rest of the RnD team and other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
Your role would involve launching brand new product lines as well as maintaining existing products. You will be required to occasionally travel between different office locations in the UK and sometimes visit installation sites when needed.
