Manage and liaise with both Consultants and end users for Engineered MCC solutions and MV solutions with in South Africa and the rest of Africa.. Will also be a support function to the branches within SA and Africa. Must communicate with existing customers, gathering market intelligence, and benchmarking against our competition to know what to offer to ensure targets are obtained. Products include all Eaton products as well as the understanding of opposition products pertaining to MCC’s and MV. Commercial Function requires the understanding of the risks that Eaton will undertake and to ensure that such risks are limited. Manage the Team of Estimators.
Identify the right products for the clients needs.
Present MCC and MV info to clients
Keep up to date with competition activities, products, pricing & market demands & write reports
Arrange product launches with branch managers and marketing
Understand the client needs, technical field service and the installation requirements
Have a knowledge of quote procedures and the compiling there of.
Have a good understanding of IEC 60439 and 61439 LV specs plus the MV specs 62271/200 and 62271/100
Liaise with both Consultants and end users for MCC assemblies and MV.
Ensure request for quotation is completed fully and timeously.
Understand the philosophy of drawings
Understand electrical protection for LV and especially for MV
Understand the Production Processes to ensure that quotes are accurate wrt cost of time in all the phases of manufacture.
Support Estimators recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing of orders.
Must be able to negotiate Legal Terms and Conditions with clients.
Must have a good understanding of costs wrt product, manufacturing, and labor costs for accuracy as well as to understand if discounts are required from time to time with clients.
Provides guidance on all commercial contract subject matters.
Participates in governance reviews customer proposals for new business, Specification verification, terms and conditions negotiations, quality requirements and supply chain requirements.
Leads negotiations of agreements & contracts within delegated authority.
Identifies and manages contract changes and coordinates with other functions to assure timely response to cost, price and schedule impact. Effectively negotiates to acceptable contract modification.
Leads in the management/mitigation of customer claims and disputes. Assures organizational awareness of any such actions and provides timely progress reports and risk mitigation solutions to include initiation of corrective actions as needed. Engages with Corporate legal as required.
Supports and advises the Division and Business Unit Leadership through negotiation of major contracts & agreements.
Verify that initial customer orders reflect Eaton commitments to the customer as reflected in the proposal and any subsequent negotiations.
Understand of the OSHAS and safety procedures.
Technical knowledge of control & indication, switching & protecting motors, position switches and the application thereof.
Technical knowledge of MV equipment to include the application thereof plus the protection thereof.
Good understanding of root to market
Presentation skills, public speaking
N3 or higher level with electrical qualification
Good knowledge of IEC 60439 and 61439 plus MV 62271/100 and 62271/200
Extensive knowledge of MCC and MV related products and applications.
Must have a min of 5 years MCC and MV Assembly experience in both Sales and Technical and a minimum of a Nation High Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Must understand IEC specifications
Must be able to read electrical schematics
Good understanding of Commercial Terms & Conditions
Fact and data driven
Experience managing and negotiating contract with key customers and senior executives.
Must be capable of leading effectively in diverse cultural situations with local and global customers.
Advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of Control and Atomization of both MV and LV
