Job Description

Eaton’s Vehicles division is currently seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to join our team. This position is based at our Reynosa facility.

The Environmental, Health and Safety Manager provides leadership to Environmental, Health, Safety, Security, Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning Services to the site.  Individual is accountable for: directing EHS and Facilities Maintenance activities at his/her location(s); establishing performance objectives and targets; internal reporting performance and compliance with local regulatory requirements as required.

  • Responsible to provide Leadership to the areas of Health and Safety, Medical Department, Plant Security Guards, Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning Services.Continuously identifies, assesses, and reduces/eliminates EHS risk.

  • Responsible for Facilities Maintenance. Development standards and strategies to maintenance work related to buildings, offices and services, to keep them in good condition and ensure continuity of plant operations.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with governmental authorities on matters of mutual concern including voluntary certification, maintenance of environmental permits, submission of required reports, and maintenance of data. 

  • Directs and/or supports development and deployment of EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 registration, VPP, Industria Limpia, etc.) as appropriate.

  • Investigates incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and accidents to determine root causes and prepares/directs corrective action plans.

  • Initiates opportunities to improve environmental conditions in the community as well as fostering employee wellness and off-the-job safety.

  • Plans to deal with emergency situations that could adversely impact the environment, employees, or the community.

  • Directs development, maintenance, and achievement of strategic initiatives designed to produce verifiable world-class performance.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, or other similar approved field.

  • Five years of experience in EHS management in manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of  safety and environmental management processes, approaches and tools, including strategic management and project management.  

  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to lead change. 

  • Experience with ISO14001 and OSHAS 18000

  • Bilingual
