Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Lead Test Technician to join our team. This position is based at our Glenolden, PA facility.


The Lead Test Technician is responsible for testing both prototype and production hardware for aircraft engine and gearbox debris monitoring systems and accessories.

  • You will review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment.
  • You will perform testing in accordance with test specifications, including test setup, test equipment adjustment, and sample and data storage.
  • You will draft detail drawings or sketches as necessary for fabrication of equipment or setup components.
  • You will devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
  • You will maintain a safe working environment by providing adequate precautions to tests in process. Design safety into every test and activity.
  • You will collect and verify accuracy of testing data.
  • You will communicate test results or anomalies to the requestor.
  • You will drive continuous improvement through efficiency in test processes, developing standard operating procedures, and assisting with hardware and/or software updates to test stands.

Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a technician working in a technical/laboratory setting.
  • As an ITAR facility, this position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
  • All candidates must be within a 50-mile radius of Glenolden, PA as relocation is not provided for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 months of working knowledge of PC-based control systems
  • Working knowledge of test equipment operation, measurement / data acquisition systems, instrumentation wiring and documentation
  • Associates Degree in engineering or related sciences, or equivalent certification from an accredited institution.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds

  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • A broad knowledge of test machines and instruments
  • General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Print reading and dimensional inspection capability
  • Effective use of current technology and the learning and application of new technology
  • Basic mathematics, graph reading and calculations are required.
  • Ability to work independently without daily supervision
  • Desire and willingness to quickly learn new products, technologies, and testing techniques
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to comprehend complex written instruction
