Job Description

Eaton Corporation’s North America Electrical Sales Division, located in Arden, NC has an immediate opening for an EOEM Account Engineer.

The EOEM Account Engineer role provides pre and post-sale technical support for Eaton Electrical Group’s EOEM sales force, and EOEM customers.

Examples of tasks include: Perform sales quotations, technical assistance, and order Management utilizing electronic tools (i.e. Bid Manager, CRM Software, Vista, Enovia, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) to provide technical support to EOEM customers. This includes providing an extensive range of seasoned and professional interpretation of complex customer drawings and specs. Develop close working relationships with EOEM field sales, plants, and customers. Serve as liaison/advocate with marketing, plants, and product lines. Establish, develop, and nurture customer relationships to strengthen partnerships and achieve long term objectives.

  • You will assist customer and field sales personnel in interpreting customer’s specifications
  • You will need to have a strong ability to read and interpret a broad range of electrical low voltage and medium voltage single line and three line drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications and commercial documents in order to provide complete quotations
  • You will provide pre-sale application and technical support by analyzing and recommending solutions to meet customers’ needs
  • You will maintain customer service levels with phone & emails, (phone statistics such as availability, customer satisfaction, dollars quoted/won/loss, etc.)
  • You will resolve customer concerns/issues over the phone and arrive at a solution or root cause as well as resolve post-shipment issues
  • You will preview and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line
  • You will make recommendations for product enhancements and offerings
  • You will proactively communicate customer needs to the product lines
  • You will provide support for daily inquiries from customers, field sales and marketing
  • You will serve on special teams and projects to enhance performance levels
  • You will provide internal and external customer training on products, processes, and resources as appropriate
  • You will support and train outsourcing of identified activities to Eaton business partners
  • You will provide back-up for team members (Knowledge of multiple customer requirements)
  • You will document activities and customer/field communications through CRM
  • You will coordinate pricing options and help sales/customer to arrive at resolution
  • You will be involved with utilizing and adding to Sharepoint
  • You will manage projects pertaining to specific customers
  • You will manage profitability of orders
  • You will generate and contribute to best practices. Document and communicate best practices within team and/or site

Basic Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree from an accredited institution required
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in technical support or project management
  • This position does require relocation and the candidate must be able to relocate within a 50 mile radius of Arden, NC

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering preferred
  • Familiar with and comfortable using Eaton’s Customer relationship management (CRM) software.


  • Low voltage, medium voltage components and assemblies.
  • Electrical Standards (NEC, UL, NEMA, IEC, CE, CSA, etc.)
  • Typical customer specifications, electrical and mechanical drawings,
  • Working knowledge of legacy products
  • Familiarity with competitors product offerings


  • Exceptional organizational skills required for managing and organizing high volume of transactions (orders, specifications, drawings, technical issues, documentation, and emails.)
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in effectively supporting complex orders.
  • Develop, maintain, and grow relationships with internal and external customers and sales engineers.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication, organization, and computer skills in addition to a strong work ethic, flexibility, and a desire to actively contribute to the group’s success.
  • Must have strong skills with Bid Manager
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong product knowledge and professional presence.
  • Occasional travel to plants and customer sites required in order to effectively interface with NAS and customers, and to participate in company-related projects, activities, or other job related assignments. This to include customer witness tests, inspections, and approval meetings/visits.
  • Presentation/training skills
  • Strong understanding of the engineering technologies of Eaton’s electrical product offerings at the component and assembly levels.
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of product configuration and pricing disciplines using pricing tools.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and price for risk associated with large orders.
  • Strong knowledge of competitor capabilities, market conditions, and market channels. Be able to share customer intelligence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, third party vendors, and Eaton personnel at all management, professional, and technical levels.
  • Interacts with outsourced suppliers to help meet customer expectations.
  • Provide technical support for warranty issues. Engage all parties until warranty is resolved.
  • Provide training and mentoring to peers.
