Eaton’s Electrical Industrial Controls Division is currently seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Watertown, WI facility.

The Product Engineer-Variable Frequency Drives will support the packaged variable speed drives product line and Watertown manufacturing organization through product engineering and application support. Providing Engineered to order support on both standard products and flex center products. This role contributes to the launch, sales growth and expansion of the drives flex center through continuous improvement of the front end sales/customer processes and experiences. As well as developing top notch flex center and aftermarket product solutions to our customers.

  • You will Generate control, connection, dimension and assembly drawings for custom enclosed drive products using drawing and modeling software 
  • You will interpret general control logic and have the ability to troubleshoot logic problems identified on the manufacturing. 
  • You will Interface with customers on new custom/flex packaged drive solutions both electrically and mechanically 
  • You will program protection relay schemes to implement controls with or without Data Concentrator. 
  • You will Generate and implement Engineering Change Orders, related to drawing or BOM changes 
  • You will Create manufacturing part numbers for purchased parts and assist in the development of new product solutions 
  • You will Assist manufacturing and industrialization teams in enclosed variable frequency drive products and in implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts throughout all areas of operations 
  • You will Manage Bid-Manager, e-tools, and online process development efforts to improve the drives product line

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics  or Physics from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in engineering. (Engineering internships and co-ops experience being considered toward this.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in related field 
  • Experience in product engineering/product line support role 
  • Working knowledge of UL508A standard 
  • Advanced proficiencies in AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor 
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint 
  • Experience with Custom Order Engineering 
  • Advanced data analysis and macro / programming experience
