Chief Electrical Engineer
Eaton’s Lighting Division is currently seeking a Chief Electrical Engineer to be part of our Midtown Atlanta GA team. This role can also sit in Peachtree City GA.
Eaton is seeking a Chief Electrical Engineer to join our progressive and dynamic engineering team. This is a hands-on development role that will directly contribute to the development and expansion of our cutting edge cloud connected internet of things (IOT) and standalone product applications and offerings.

The Chief Electrical Engineer is the foremost technical expert in the area of electronics with a primary focus on power, analog, and control electronics (preferably in the IoT space).
In this role you will provide technical leadership to ensure products meet or exceed requirements, attend design reviews, provide mentoring to less experienced engineers, solve complex engineering problems, recommend and lead continuous improvement activities, and lead advanced technical exploration projects to generate IP and increase profitability.
As a division wide technical leader this person will work cross segment and cross functionally and is the technical authority in their area.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution or foreign equivalent
A minimum of 15 years of electrical/electronic product design experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience with FW/SW development (preferably in lighting or IoT applications)
Experience in PCB Design and Schematic capture tools
- Knowledge of UL/CSA/NOM standards
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or closely related discipline.
Experience with model based design of algorithms
Experience of developing control engine software solutions
Experience developing or working with Bluetooth enabled software systems
Knowledge of Database Design, SQL Queries and transactions.
- Working knowledge of Design Patterns.
Sound understanding of Agile development, UML, SDL and CMM.
Knowledge of the entire design process from concept to product delivery
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Oversee the make, buy, reuse analysis for component selection
Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment
Able to provide technical training and guidance to engineering staff
Expert user of power, analog and digital lab equipment with the ability to teach lab equipment use
