Eaton’s Fuel and Motion Control Systems Division of Eaton Aerospace, is currently seeking an Engineering Records Administrator. The position is based in Jackson, MS.

 

The Jackson facility has approximately 500 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. 

 

The Engineering Records Administrator role is responsible for engineering Bill of Material maintenance, basic configuration management functions, providing various engineering documents to approved persons both inside and outside the Jackson, MS facility and providing clerical and administrative support to the engineering department.

  • You will input new and revise existing engineering part descriptions and BOM’s (Bill of Materials) into MRP system to support product lifecycles. Updates manufacturing BOM’s as requested by supply chain personnel.
  • You will maintain Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) status in Enovia and MFG Pro as required by the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • You will maintain strict physical control of non-electronic engineering documents. Scans and releases various engineering documents in Eaton’s PLM system to support electronic migration efforts.
  • You will collaborate with peers and managers to support various projects related to Eaton’s MRP and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
  • You will maintain the engineering records room to clearly document the location of records and ensure availability of documents.
  • You will maintain configuration management logs, such as for drawing and document number assignments and ECO assignment logs.
  • You will support the product lifecycle and data management processes at the direction of the Configuration and Data Manager, including maintaining the model information database, processing engineering document releases, and maintaining data submittal/receipt records.
  • You will maintain familiarity with industry practices, trends, and applications to enhance the organization’s technical capabilities. Prepares and updates work instructions applicable to role as required.
  • You will provide organizational administrative support – including arranging catering, meeting room preparation and clean up.  Maintain a list of approved catering sources. Screens and organizes incoming mail for attention of appropriate group. Acts as point of contact for office supplies and printer maintenance. Administers site office and cubicle assignments consistent with policy.  Ensures smooth transitions for new/exiting employees including name plates, key management, etc.
  • You will maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in administrative role or engineering support environment
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • This position requires use of information or access to information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of Jackson, MS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in a technical field
  • Knowledge of basic Microsoft and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience with Enovia and/or MfgPro
  • 3 years working with BOMs

  • Ability to work independently once given management direction.
  • Familiarity with databases, ERP, and PLM systems. Knowledge of Bill of Materials and the maintenance thereof.
