This exciting role is for ADQS COE, Support organization is looking for an ideal candidate for supporting Business Intelligence applications with primary focus on Microsoft Power BI. The candidate must have complete understanding of end to end service management processes such as incident management, request management, problem management, change management and release management. The role requires complete understanding of application of various business intelligence tools and technologies across industry, data warehousing concepts, enterprise data models, utilization of relational, dimensional & NoSQL databases along with understanding of reporting and self-service analytics. Microsoft Power BI is enterprise wide self-service analytics tool used at Eaton and ongoing support for solutions implemented using Power BI by following standard IT processes is needed. This position will allow us to handle growing needs in BI support more effectively towards the needs of the business and capitalize on our existing investment in BI area.
The ideal candidate will have experience in Microsoft Power BI design and development with a general understanding of additional BI tools like Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Big Data Discovery, Big Data Appliances (BDD/BDA) and QlikView. The candidate will also be responsible to adhere and contribute towards the Enterprise BI best practices within Eaton and responsible for coordinating support of deployed solutions.
Your essential responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day support, predominantly Medium to High complexity incidents, that are disrupting normal business operation in a timely manner, to ensure timely, reliable, cost effective service to Eaton employees and customers. Demonstrates very good understanding of business processes and in-depth knowledge of the technology and applications. Articulate business requirements and challenges faced by users.
Identify and analyze top trends, suggest automations, alternatives to reduce trends/incidents.
Suggests and builds re-usable components (High complexity). Provides estimates for effort and schedule for assigned tasks. Delivers tasks end to end with productivity, on-Time and Quality.
Performs preventative maintenance. Identifies areas where improvements can be made to prevent future production problems and identifies and implements long-term, permanent solutions before the problem occurs.
Drive and promote ITSM best practices. Implements changes in compliance with Eaton practices for change management.
Satisfactorily deliver IT services exceeding the established SLAs while maintaining satisfactory customer feedback.
Prioritizes incidents to ensure high impact and urgent tickets are worked on priority and taking leadership to ensure no customer impact.
Serves as the primary end user contact point for related Support activities and customer escalations. Serves as escalation point for team, for High complexity issues.
Works closely with other IT support groups and impacted customers for effective resolution and testing of fixes for production support issues, Build rapport with concerned stakeholders.
Meet BSC Support Metrics. Meet/Exceed CSAT score.
Documents and create knowledge repository which will helps in providing quick resolution of tickets.
Mentor team members as appropriate (Simple to medium complexity).
Manage CRs (raise, represent in CAB, execute, close etc. Ensure metrics fulfilment related to Change Management E.g. Change Data Health, Change: Emergency etc.).
Assists in governance process.
Ability to work independently, work under pressure, adapt to demanding situations and maintain schedules. Provide regular, clear, and consistent communication (written and oral) on the status of issues, deliverables prioritization and timing back to IT stakeholders.
Communicates effectively with both technical and business personnel to gather requirements, communicate expectations, identify solutions, and create action plans.
Collaborate/share support work / Knowledge to other team members and third-Party applications/teams.
If you are:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as: B.E / BTech / MCA / Equivalent or B.S. Comp Sci / Mathematics / Engineering / Equivalent with 1 year of experience
Minimum 7 years over all IT experience out of which minimum 5 years in developing and supporting Power BI applications
Expertise in Power BI architecture, modeling and licensing
Hands-on experience in developing, sharing and troubleshooting data models,
In depth knowledge on DAX, usage of visualizations, data set connectors, usage of tiles, filters
Good understanding of security model in Power BI.
Expertise in dimensional modeling.
Strong SQL skills, preferably knowledge in performance tuning.
Hands-on experience in design and development of other analytics tools – OBIEE, BDD/BDA, QlikView
Good Analytical skills.
Knowledge of formal database architecture and design.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
Understanding of Industry Standard Documentation Practices.
Experience in a client-facing role for a top tier or similar consulting organization is highly desirable
Enthusiastic about learning large and complex systems.
Results-driven with the ability to take initiatives, handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Excellent problem solving skills, logical process thinking and end-to-end system concepts - Investigates problems to establish real or hidden causes.
