Engineer - Bussmann Fusible Products
Leads new product development/sustaining engineering projects for Fusible products Bussmann division by providing leadership to project, process, and technical deliverables on assigned activities with contribution in technology innovations. Should demonstrate ‘Right to Left’ thinking (starting with consideration for end customer).
Understands product requirements of Bussmann fuses and fusible products, in terms of application, design considerations, working principals, complex system interactions.
Perform design and analysis activities including conceptual design, Design Optimization, Product Cost analysis, Prototype Building and Validation through Testing of Fuses & Fusible products (ANSI /UL, IEC).
Translate conceptual ideas to tool-able 3D designs for plastic and metal components, capable with component development and assemblies and configurations.
Drives VAVE and cost out, competitive benchmarking, teardown, should costing exercises for fuses and fusible products like switch disconnects, panels.
Collaborates with diverse cross-functional teams at global level, demonstrates project management knowledge.
Takes engineering decisions to generate product specifications using appropriate analytical, engineering calculations, system level analysis tools.
Drives continuous improvement at work coming up with creative ideas of productivity / quality improvements.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (3 to 5 years of relevant experience) or Master’s degree in engineering (1 to 2+ years of relevant experience), preferably mechanical or electrical from an accredited institution
3 ~ 5 years of experience in product design and development of fusible products.
Proficiency in CAD skills using Solidworks for tool-able plastic and metal components.
Experience in modeling, analysis, 3D and 2D Tolerance stack up analysis, quality and testing for fusible/protection products & assemblies.
Experience in managing technical requirements and carry out technical risk assessment, flow down system specifications and derive product level specifications and limits.
Experience in VAVE and cost out, competitive tear downs and benchmarking.
Familiarity with ANSI, NEMA, UL, IEC and other applicable standards for electro-mechanical products.
Thermal experience & electrical product background.
Proficiency in Solidworks, PLM/ERP tools like Enovia, SAP

Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to all stakeholders
