Eaton Aerospace division is currently seeking a Operations Manager to join our team. This position is based at Camarillo, CA.


The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring overall responsibility for leading a manufacturing team in achieving quality, cost, delivery and employee safety goals.  Provides leadership in driving continuous improvements to the High 5 metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost; and overall customer satisfaction measurements; utilizing Eaton Aerospace’s CI, Tier, and QLI processes.  Facilitate problem solving and corrective action for production issues.  Control in-process inventory to achieve production requirements with minimum impact on inventory levels.  Direct application of capital and people resources to maximize operating efficiency. This role will report directly to the Plant Manager.

  • You will assess the performance indicators for the Aerospace products in the Camarillo plant to ensure that safety, capacity, quality, productivity and manufacturing costs are competitively maintained and improved through the Continuous Improvement Framework.

  • You will analyze short and long-term manufacturing requirements and capabilities of facilities.

  • You will drive change through improved organizational capability, providing leadership in recruiting, goal alignment, employee development, performance management and communication. 

  • You will ensure motivation and retention of a high-performance management team and workforce. 

  • You will assure policies, procedures, and other documentation are established to provide for consistent and professional operation of all organizational functions. 

  • You will develop budgets and resource plans, and monitor performance, to achieve product delivery and financial requirements. 

  • You will support Environmental Health and Safety in the deployment of MESH to support a Zero Incident Culture. 

  • You will ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to meet customer, manufacturing system and financial reporting requirement s. 

  • You will Co-ordinate manufacturing schedules and priorities within the production plan to satisfy customer requirements.

  • You will control in-process inventory to achieve production requirements with minimum impact on inventory levels. 

  • You will direct application of capital and people resources to maximize operating efficiency.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership position with direct reports

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Lean Manufacturing; MBA preferred

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Manufacturing, Quality or MFG Engineering is preferred

  • Experienced in management of aerospace development programs

  • Project Management Institute accreditation (PMP) preferred

  • Experience in Risk Management
  • Broad knowledge of the Aerospace industry
 
Position Criteria:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and customer

  • Proven capability to lead change in a team environment

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
