Job Description

Center for Connectivity and IoT Platforms has an opening for Senior Engineer. The Senior Engineer will be involved in design & development of embedded software projects encompassing functionality from industrial protocols stacks, cybersecurity feature implementation  , cloud device connectivity to the development of a shared, reusable, secure, scalable software. We provide critical differentiation for our customers by delivering a scalable reusable embedded software.

You will be responsible for contributing technologies which can change the economics of communication software. You will design embedded systems, generate IP, plan and execute iterations  and work closely with the product team to assess business impact and constraints. You must be proficient with current firmware development technology, tools and practices, and have capabilities in quickly learning and developing a large set of communication protocol technologies, languages C, C++ and concurrent software development in an RTOS environment.
 
Contribute to the software development efforts by contributing to the design, and implementation of world class, high-performance, communications platform  firmware.
Evaluate business requirements to determine potential solutions.
Work directly with stakeholders, engineering  and test to create high quality products that solve customer problems.
Propose and provide innovative, competitive technical solutions which can make significant business impact and provide value to stakeholders.
Provide work estimates and conduct design, implementation, and code reviews.
Develop and execute plans for incremental and interactive project delivery.
Author high-quality unit-tested code.
Work with test team to ensure adequate and appropriate test case coverage; investigate and fix bugs

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical Engineering
Desired: Master’s degree in Computer Science /Electronics/Electrical Engineering
 
QUALIFICATION:
 
Required:
    • 6+ years as a software developer utilizing object-oriented design techniques on embedded systems.
    • 3+ years of extensive experience in embedded C++ programming, Device Drivers, data structures on embedded system.
    • 2+ years of experience developing software in  RTOS environment for embedded devices.
    • 1+ years of experience in the development of software for network-enabled products/devices (any one of device level IP communication including Industrial Ethernet protocols like EtherNet/IP, ModbusTCP, Profinet, BacnetIP,61850 and or device level field bus technologies -Modbus, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, BACNet is preferred. will be a plus).
    • Extensive experience developing embedded software for various microprocessor families(ARM Cortex based processor preferred).
    • Experience on driving software code quality through processes  and tools like static code analysis tools (pc-lint, coverity).
    • Understands cybersecurity considerations and counter measures
    • Proficiency with configuration/change management processes and tools.
    • Experience in an Agile design methodology.
    • Experience utilizing best practices in software engineering.
    • Strong problem solving and embedded software debugging skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with respect to written and oral communication, including the ability to explain technical concepts.
    • Improve engineering design and product support processes.
    • Performs and contributes to technical research & investigations.
       
      Desired:
    • Experience working on device level connectivity platforms.
    • Product development experience with cloud connectivity protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, LWM2M, Web sockets.
    • Physical (Memory, processor utilization) resource budgeting experience.
