Job Description

The Director of Supply Chain for Power Systems will provide leadership and management for the supply chain function for the entire Power Systems Division (which includes the Power Reliability and Power Delivery divisions) at $1.1B of annual sales, 9 sites, and approximately 3000 employees.

 

The Director of Supply Chain will create and execute the supply chain strategy to support the organization’s short-term and long-term business and financial goals.

 

A key aspect of the role is to deploy supply chain management strategic initiatives; drive continuous improvement in our supply chain processes and related Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) enabling system (SAP); and drive deployment of EBS (Eaton Business System) tools in support of key business strategies / related objectives.

 

This role partners with the leadership teams, plant leaders, and others across Power Systems to develop continuous improvement plans consistent with each business division's strategies in pursuit of meeting or exceeding profit plan expectations. This role ensures that the deployment of these supply chain strategic initiatives, ERP enhancements and EBS tools are aligned with the critical needs of the businesses and that the deployment supports attainment of business objectives while driving continuous improvement. The role provides subject matter expertise into the creation of the division’s business strategy as well as supplemental operations strategies.

 

This position also focuses on building organizational capability and skill and talent development within Power Systems’ Supply Chain function, including builds talent pipelines and succession plans for all levels within the function. This role owns the standardized processes and standard work for all SCM roles.  The functional scope of this role includes the entire extended Supply Chain; Demand Planning, ETO management, Supply synchronization, Master Scheduling, Plan for every Part, Production Planning, Inventory Management and Shipping / Distribution of the Finished Product, Business Process Improvement (SAP) including the following:

 

• Forecasting (Demand Planning)

• Inventory Management (APICS, Planning & Modeling)

• Planning (SIOP, Master Scheduling, ETO Scheduling, Supply

  Planning and Production Planning

• Materials Management (Material Flow & Replenishment)

• Logistics

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution


Minimum of 10 years of Supply Chain Management (SCM) experience in manufacturing industry


Minimum of 2 years of direct manager of people experience


Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly with Supply Chain / Materials Management processes and tools.


Minimum of 5 years of experience assessing the operational and SCM efficiency of a facility and identifying areas for process improvement.


Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


 


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain


MBA or Master's degree preferred


Minimum of 3 years of experience managing SCM in a highly Engineer-To-Order (ETO) business environment (significant advantage)


Prior experience in electrical components or electrical industry is a plus


 


Job Criteria:


Strong history of implementing projects and process changes.


Strong understanding of SCM, ERP and EBS toolset


Working knowledge of Inventory Management practices and processes


Working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)


Working knowledge of SIOP


Sound understanding of the financial issues associated with running a multi-facility business


Successful experience in an organization with multiple, geographically diverse and international locations.


Ability to drive change through influence and proven experience as an effective change agent


Excellent communication, Customer Service and interpersonal skills


Strong leadership and professional presence
