Eaton Industrial Controls Division (ICD) has an opening for a Master Electrician join our team. This position is based at our Menomonee Falls, WI Facility.
 
This position will reside in the divisional headquarters building, which houses engineering for multiple product lines as well as marketing, sales, finance, and R&D.  The candidate will maintain electrical service for the 100kft² ICD (Industrial Controls Division) headquarter facility by diagnosing and repairing electrical problems in office and laboratory areas.  Work closely with engineering and technicians to support new product development electrical and equipment needs and installations.

  • You will assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
  • You will diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • You will inspect electrical systems and equipment to identify hazards, the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • You will test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, distribution equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, etc. to ensure compatibility and safety of systems.
  • You will plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • You will direct and train independent contractors to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • You will demonstrate competency in the use of a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices and grounding tools.
  • You will perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, maintaining supply inventories, preparing reports and ordering supplies and equipment.
  • You will work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • You will bend and install conduit, construct and fabricate parts and fasten metal / plastic boxes.
  • You will perform physically demanding tasks, such as moving and lifting heavy objects.
  • You will provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications
 
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited educational institution is required.
  • Must hold an active and current Master Electrician’s certification / license in WI.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the troubleshooting and working knowledge of electrical theory, the National Electrical Code, and local / state electric and building codes.
  • Able to use mechanical and electrical tools such as fixtures, calipers, torque wrenches, and multimeters.
  • Ability to understand basic prints, schematics, wiring diagrams and specifications.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.  Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Menomonee, WI will be considered
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
 
Position Criteria:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with peers and management.
  • Must be organized, self-motivated and able to complete tasks with little supervision. 
  • Analysis and problem-solving skills to determine root cause and assist in obtaining corrective actions and be safety focused.
  • Must have the ability to evaluate, identify and source parts / equipment needed for various electrical applications.
  • Functional skills in basic mathematics sufficient to perform data analysis.
  • Familiar with basic computer usage and programs such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
