Eaton’s Power Quality Division has an opening for a Sr. Product Line Manager.  This position will be located in Raleigh, NC.

The Sr. Product Line Manager will be responsible for managing a team of product marketing, pricing/business analytics and business development professionals to assure customer and channel intimacy and satisfaction, drive market share gains (#1or #2 in all markets served, and ensure the effective return on investment of Power Quality sales and marketing investment strategies.) This person will be responsible for developing and executing go-to-market strategies and programs for the Distributed Power Infrastructure business (DPQ) within the Power Quality Division. This person will provide the necessary leadership to achieve market outgrowth of new and existing products.

  • You will lead the development of launch plans and programs to drive market adoption of new products and services including Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) of series 3, 5, 9, office surge suppressors, rackmount Power Distribution Units (PDUs), rackmount Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), rack enclosures for the Eaton brand and major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) like HPE, EMC, Cisco, Microsoft, Lenovo or IBM.
  • You will direct enablement key performance indicators that support product and program launch plans to reach market adoption plans of new products and services.
  • You will drive all aspects of pricing for DPQ, including, but not limited to, creating and managing price bands, running pricing analysis and making pricing recommendations to senior leadership across all channels and product lines for efficiencies that minimize channel conflicts and optimize margin opportunities for Eaton.
  • You will implement marketing programs to drive volume significantly up to gain market share while reducing the cost of acquisition of new customers.
  • You will establish standard reporting processes and methodologies as well as perform ad-hoc market and pricing analysis as required to support performance management
  • You will perform market research (segmentation and adjacent verticals) to determine key growth opportunities and programs for the business.
  • You will manage a team of product marketing managers to develop new markets/channels, drive product positioning, and execute product marketing programs to achieve profit plan.  You will provide the necessary leadership to achieve market outgrowth of new and existing products.
  • You will drive sales of UPS and PDU products and solutions to meet business unit revenue and margin objectives across the Americas.
  • You will manage the demand side of the Sales Inventory Operations Planning (SIOP) process and the Large Volume Opportunity funnel.
  • You will perform periodic reviews of competitors’ products, positioning, channel strategy and price/cost positions to determine key opportunities and selling strategies
  • You will interface with other internal operations in Asia Pacific (APAC)  and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to elaborate the global roadmap
  • You will work closely with engineering to execute product road map and deliver key products and features to market in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution
  • 10 years of overall business experience including at least 3 years of Product Management experience

Position Criteria:

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and capabilities of competitive benchmarking of features and price, new product requirement definition, business plan development, value proposition development, new product launch, forecasting
  • Ability to demonstrate commercial presence, negotiation skills, marketing acumen, business development skills with track record of developing strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to conduct market research to understand customer needs
  • Ability to demonstrate strong data analytics, business and financial acumen capabilities and ability to manage a product portfolio P&L.
  • Ability to get results, multitask, complete projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to lead effectively in a matrix organization, in virtual teams (across different locations), and cross-cultural environments
  • Ability to learn, articulate, and support complex products and technologies, including how those products can solve the customer’s business need.
  • Ability to effectively interact with others, establishing open, candid, and trusting relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and external customers
  • Ability to influence others internally and externally through utilization of leadership skills
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, including seeing the big picture and motivating others towards common goals
  • Strong motivator with a passion for partner intimacy, learning, business drivers, and innovation
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or marketing from an accredited educational institution
  • Masters Business Administration from an accredited educational institution
  • Experience with UPS, rack power distribution units, and services
  • Experience with channel and/or OEM sales
  • Knowledge of Database/CRM and other business analytics/intelligence tools
  • Experience with Datacenter/IT market, including product launches
  • Global experience
  • Product Line Management/Marketing experience in information technology hardware industry
