Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking the Senior Manager, User Experience Design to join our team. This position is based at our Moon Township, PA facility.
The Senior Manager, User Experience Design is responsible for by leading a team focused on discovery, interaction design, visual design, and industrial design, all firmly grounded by UX principles.

  • You will attract, retain, and build key talent on your team into design leaders; develop a pipeline of talent through partnerships with leading design-focused organizations and academic institutions.
  • You will drive organizational maturity through exceptional collaboration, communication, and execution while managing the day-to-day operations of your team, ensuring focus on and execution against top priorities, and that the work of all team members is on-time, on-budget, and of the highest quality.
  • You will forecast staffing levels of the entire design team and plan staffing to meet needs of Eaton projects and departmental initiatives.
  • You will provide thought leadership and evangelize UXD and Design Thinking within Eaton; establish and sustain partnerships with product teams to ensure that UXD and modern front-end development practices are an integral part of product development.
  • You will present design concepts to cross-functional teams & stakeholders, senior leaders and to various internal and external audiences with confidence.
  • You will guide cutting edge creative work and have a master-level understanding of design.
  • You will be knowledgeable and stay inquisitive about new skills, techniques, and digital design developments, and help your team successfully apply them to work practices.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US now and in the future without company sponsorship.
  • A minimum of 7 years full product development life-cycle management and/or a minimum of 5  years project management, UX and/or front-end projects.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing and leading a team.
  • 10+ years of design and/or usability engineering experience, including UX design of web applications.
  • 7+ years of experience project management and leadership in a design/development organization.
  • Mobile application development experience.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React.

  • A portfolio with a strong body of work demonstrating compelling information architecture, user experience, and progression from concept through production, across multiple disciplines and interaction media.
  • Experience growing and managing a team, working collaboratively with product management and engineering, from concept through delivery of world-class customer experiences.
  • You’re a charismatic and energizing public speaker, and you know how to command and energize a room.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
