Eaton’s Vehicle Group North America division is currently seeking a Test Controls Engineer to join our Regional Operations Services team. This position can be based at our Galesburg, Marshall, or Southfield, MI facility.
Position Overview:
In this role, you will be leading End-of-Line Test (EOLT) specification, procurement, validation, data analysis, and issue resolution for Eaton Vehicle Group's North America Operations team.

Essential Functions:
  • You will individually lead major, or several minor, programs with little to no oversight. This will include:
    • Development of specifications for manufacturing end of line test systems, working closely with product engineering and plant teams
    • Development and execution of validation plans and MSA (measurement systems analysis) for end of line test systems
    • Review end of line test data from manufacturing sites and test stand suppliers
    • Development of processes, systems, and/or software for automated analysis of end of line test data
    • Travel as needed to support test system installation, validation, run-off, and issue resolution
  • You will solicit and technically mentor quotations from external equipment suppliers
  • You will manage external suppliers and monitor progress toward delivery schedules and cost targets
  • You will have the opportunity to experiment with/develop advanced techniques for testing new automotive systems/products
  • You will mentor and train colleagues on the team, partners in the plant, and key suppliers on new processes in support of testing systems and/or products

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or physics program from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years experience in product engineering, test engineering, or manufacturing environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
 Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or physics program from an accredited institution
  • Previous experience leading or managing projects
Position Criteria
  • Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office tools, Networking, Programming/Scripting/Macros, etc.)
  • Mastery of one of the following technical skills, and ability/desire to learn the others:
    • National Instruments LabVIEW programming
    • Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming
    • C or Visual Studio programming
    • Prototype fixture hardware design and CAD tool usage
    • Electrical test system design and CAD tool usage
  • Experience with several of the following:
    • Manufacturing statistics (Six Sigma Training Preferred)
    • Automotive Controller Area Network (CAN) protocols (J1339, UDS, etc.)
    • Design/development of data collection and analysis systems
    • Electronic system design and troubleshooting skills
    • Mechanical system design and troubleshooting skills
    • Hydraulic system design and troubleshooting skills
