Job Description

The primary responsibility of this role is to perform structural analysis of various Eaton products for static and fatigue loading requirements. Individual will be required to partner with global teams, understand specific design intent, develop and validate structural analysis models to substantiate various engineering designs. Candidate should ensure proper coordination and communication with all stakeholders by following project management best practices. He/She is expected to guide and mentor new incumbents on various stress & fatigue analysis requirements to ensure quality deliverables from team. This position is responsible for handling complex engineering projects wherein incumbent is expected to independently handle requirements and deliver quality results within stipulated timelines.
 
The candidate should have strong background in solid mechanics with thorough understanding of finite element analysis fundamentals. He/She needs to have proven experience in handling complex non-linear analysis involving geometric, contact and material non-linear behavior. Incumbent should have in-depth understanding of fatigue fundamentals with working knowledge around stress and strain based fatigue life predictions. He/She should proactively look for various opportunities to validate his/her analytical predictions with physical testing to constantly mature DP capabilities. Candidate should act as Technical Lead for large projects or multiple small projects.
 
  1. Liaison with global business stakeholders to drive analysis driven design in product development cycle
  2. Develop and validate digital prototypes to mimic product physics and predict key CTQ’s
  3. Leverage DFSS methodology to enable robust product designs
  4. Independently handle project assignments and manage day to day project responsibilities
  5. Create valuable IP to expand innovation envelope for organization growth
  6. Embrace continuous improvement initiatives and demonstrate consistent increase in “value” from project deliverables
  7. Guide / mentor team members on their projects to meet project deliverables
    Seamlessly work with leadership team to mature DP capabilities across the organization

Qualifications

Required: Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace/Applied Mechanics/Design from reputed institutes with 4+ years of experience in Structural Mechanics domain
 
Desired Skills:
  • Candidate must have thorough knowledge of Finite Element Methods, Strength of Materials & Machine Design
  • Candidate must have demonstrated ability to interpret, summarize and communicate FE analysis results to global audience and provide technical and/or design recommendations
  • Candidate should have demonstrated mentoring / coaching skills in previous experience
     
    Special Skills:
  • Hands on experience on CAE software programs such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Hypermesh, nCode & FEsafe
