Eaton is seeking an experienced technical program manager for Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE) team located in Raleigh, NC. 
Eaton’s PE CoE accelerates the company’s growth through the development of power electronics technology platforms and common hardware building blocks that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable as well as standardized design methodologies that can be adopted by multiple business units, which provides a foundation for our business to more rapidly develop innovative products. 
The technical program manager will be responsible for not only developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans capturing key technical requirements and deliverables and outlining project tasks, milestones, status, and resource allocation but also developing effective cross-organization relationships, efficient collaboration and communication across business and with stakeholders.  The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, power electronics background and development experience, a proven track record in successful project management and implementation, leadership skills capable of leading a cross functional project team and communicating with stakeholders.

In this role you will:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans capturing key technical requirements and deliverables and outlining project tasks, milestones, status, and resource allocation
  • Lead and direct projects to achieve stated goals and objectives
  • Monitor and report overall performance of projects. Develop measureable project goals and objectives and creates performance based culture.
  • Create and maintain project reports and presentations
  • Develop effective cross-organization relationships, efficient collaboration and communication across business and with stakeholders
  • Work closely with Engineering Leads for the design and development of power electronics platforms and building blocks.
  • Contribute to and lead technical discussions as needed, with the ability to easily communicate the decisions and benefits to customers, engineers, and management
  • Support the PE CoE manager to develop strategy, direction, and priorities. Creates action plans to drive strategies to realization.
  • Support the PE CoE manager and Business Unit (BU) engineering leaders in the development of technology roadmaps, project pipeline, detailed project plans, and value proposition
  • Initiate and develop solid relationships with both engineering and business leaders within Eaton to drive adoption of platforms, common designs, and state-of-the art design methodologies.
  • Drive engineering excellence both in PE CoE and the BU’s teams
  • Partner with the Corporate Research and Technology (CRT) to develop a longer-term research portfolio for power electronics

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an  accredited institution
  • 7+ years of related engineering experience in power electronics designs and product development
  • 5+ years of experience including hands-on program/project management of large, cross-functional efforts, from concept through delivery
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an  accredited institution
  • Strong working knowledge in power electronics designs including topology, analog/digital circuit, thermal management, control, and firmware
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Experience developing comprehensive project plans with high-level technical requirements while dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience working in diverse cultural situations with global customers and team members
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering processes
  • Design for Six Sigma certification
