Job Description

Our eMobility segment is currently seeking a Lead Project Engineer to join our dynamic, New Product Development team. This position takes ownership of building solutions by leading cross-functional, global teams and collaborating across the organization. This position is located in Shenzhen China.

 

Generate product requirements specifications in coordination with the customer(s), for the design and development new and innovative products


Guide core engineers in translating customer product requirements and specifications for design development


Prepare and review new project estimates: scope, effort, schedule, risk, cost, etc.


Investigate and analyze new materials, components, technologies, applications and their appropriate use within our product lines


Conduct testing of all new products in accordance with established standards and customer requirements


Provide supervision and support to internal project engineering resources when appropriate


Review and conduct analyses (FMEA, simulations, modeling, etc.) on new products to ensure their integrity and use the results to optimize designs


Extensive knowledge of DFSS and DFx practices: Manufacturing, Test, Repair, Quality, etc


Review and approve DSFR before supplier award.


Successfully lead teams that are either co-located or at international locations in design process


Establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key customers and vendors

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

 


•7 or more years’ experience in new product development in electrical and electromechanical systems, including electric motor drive systems

•3 years of experience working directly with customers

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field required, Masters preferred

•Expert on electric motor drive and control systems, DC, AC, PM, SR, FW motors

•Electronic hardware and firmware design—power electronics for electric and hybrid electric vehicle systems, switch-mode power supplies, battery charging and management systems, design strategies for EMC, etc.


 


Preferred Qualifications

•Experience with model based design methods a plus

•Good understanding of commercial vehicle markets and the environmental requirements and related qualification testing required

•CAD tools: schematic capture, circuit and behavioral simulation (SPICE, Simplis, Ansys, Altium, Matlab/Simulink) PCB layout and design

•Working knowledge of automotive serial data protocols (CAN, J1939, J1587, J1708, LIN) and tools (CANape, CANalyzer, CANopen, etc.)

•Experience with C, C#, C++ and embedded programming

•Software Development tools:  (MPLAB, IAR Embedded Workbench, AVR studio, Keil, Microchip, TI and Atmel development tools)

•Microchip, Atmel, ST, TI microprocessor families.

•Supervising other engineering tasks (assembly drawings, PCB layout, software development, validation testing)

Manage all or part of the project as required
