Job Description

Primary Functions:
 
Responsible for the business strategy for all Manufacturing Engineering area. Drive implementation of production improvements and processes capable to meet the production and quality requirements for current products and new products.  Responsible for results on cost reduction activities and oversees major product or process cost reduction programs.  Assure to develop a process to provide Engineering Technical Support to the operation, to ensure quality compliance.  Serves as a liaison between product engineering at our facility.  Provides Customer Satisfaction Team leadership for newly introduced product lines until they may be integrated with the rest of the operations.  Identify opportunities and projects that drive productivity improvements and design appropriate strategy.  Ensure proper management and implementation of engineering change.

Essential Functions:
  • Assess current issues to develop and implement processes to improve troubleshooting in manufacturing areas with issues related to machines, molding – injection molding and Thermoset-, welding, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation and electro-mechanical areas.
  • Support Cost Saving process and the plant capital spending plan, and review prior to submission with the Technical Service Manager.
  • Lead major product or process improvement / cost reduction programs to achieve desired results on schedule.
  • Manage activities related to the personnel reporting to the incumbent including job objectives, performance appraisals, staff meetings, and others.
  • Focus efforts of the manufacturing engineering team on meeting factory productivity cost out objectives. Specifically drive positive standard labor variance and favorable variable manufacturing expense variance through the use of ELSS tools and design to cost initiatives.
  • Full support and commitment to the Eaton Business System, Eaton Quality System and EHS.
  • Support the integration of new products into the facility.
  • Provide the technical support of special customer needs.
  • Review impacts of possible sales increase.
  • Implement and maintain a robust machinery maintenance program.
  • Ensure proper strategy for management of Tool Crib for Site spare parts.
  • Identify and justify tool replacement needs.
  • Identify and eliminate the scrap major detractors.
  • Generate and implement ideas to support Cost Savings Program.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:   Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
 
Minimum Experience:  Minimum of five to eight  years of experience Managing Areas in manufacturing environment.
