Eaton’s Vehicle division is currently seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our facility in Reynosa.
The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer  is responsible to design, validate and implement manufacturing systems; including process documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product. A Manufacturing Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes.

Some activities related with the position will be:
  • Supports Production Area.
  • Participates in safety assessments
  • Defines and implement safety machine guarding to manufacturing equipment as per Eaton requirements
  • Designs, validates and implements manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFD, PFMEA, WIs) and establishes and implement process controls.
  • Develops Quality System procedures
  • Develops and implements tools as per new or revised requirements
  • Develops and implement new design fixtures for assembly.
  • Implements the ECO’s procedure in the production documents
  • Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • 5 years experience in manufacturing and materials area.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics.
  • Conversational English
  • Conversational English.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Manufacturing Process Design
    • The ability to review and analyze product designs so as to assure manufacturability.
    • Knowledge and experience in the design, selection, specification, and optimization of equipment, tooling, and processes required to make a product according to the desired volume, cost, and quality level in a safe manner.
    • Process design, capability, and capacity
    • Manufacturing factors (industry standards, plant layout development, material flow analysis, and product/process testing) 
    • Manufacturing Value Stream Success Factors and Continuous Improvement
    • The inherent ability to recognize and act upon challenges and situations that contribute to success in manufacturing operations.
    • Communication, cooperation, and problem resolution from the supply base to the customer.
    • Direct interaction with materials management with regards to production scheduling, inventory improvements, and part availability.
    • Consistent engagement of product lines and employees to maintain a pulse on production status, challenges and successes.
    • The ability to align and focus support resources such as quality, EHS, and maintenance to ensure an effective and proactive approach to resolve process issues.
    • Collaboration with product design teams to ensure manufacturability of current and new products and manage engineering and process changes.
    • Hands on experience working in various roles within manufacturing facilities contributes to success within this competency.
    • Business Systems and Practices
    • Knowledge of and experience with appropriate enterprise and shop floor information systems.
    • Shop floor manufacturing execution systems may encompass document control, detailed scheduling, process management, quality management, product tracking, data collection, performance analysis, and maintenance management.
    • In addition to system knowledge, this competency includes the understanding of business practices associated with planning, executing, monitoring, and assessing operational activities and performance.
    • Examples include capital appropriation request process, manufacturing expense allocations, product costing, bill of materials, routings, work instructions, process standards, and OEE.
    • EBS Tool Integrator
    • Appropriate use of EBS elements, tools, and processes within the manufacturing / operations environment.
    • ELSS: Knowledge and experience with the ELSS tools is necessary to continuously improve processes.
    • PROLaunch: Use of PROLaunch for program management of new product development (NPD), standard transition process (STP), acquisition integration framework (AIF), and business process and services (BPS).
    • EQMS (Eaton Quality Management Systems): Knowledge and use of quality processes, procedures, and tools in order to ensure quality products and services.
    • EHS and MESH: Use of tools to minimize waste, pollution, and exposure to hazardous materials and conditions and to responsibly manage all resources and materials used.
    • EBS Assessments: Demonstrates level of knowledge
    • Building a Business Case
    • Is able to consolidate cross-functional, multi-level project issues and analyses into a comprehensive business case. Generates the strategic rationale behind a Development & Planning project; the ability to work with others in creating it and the mastery of communicating project issues to senior management.
