Join Eaton’s Information Technology team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects and new platforms.  We are currently seeking a Web Applications Support Analyst to join our Information Platform Architecture Center of Excellence (IPACOE) team. This position can be based out of any US Eaton location. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH facility.  No relocation is being offered for this position.  If the candidate resides within 50 miles of Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate must work at that site. If the candidate resides more than 50 miles away from Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate will work remote from another US Eaton Facility or an approved home office.
The Web Applications Analyst is responsible for administration and support of web platform technologies environments, including portal, web content management and document management.

  • You will support and administer Eaton’s enterprise portal, web content management, document management and related environments.
  • You will provide end user to support for enterprise applications.
  • You will perform and lead support and problem management activities.
  • You perform and lead activities related to the promotion and migration of software and associated components through the pre-production to production environments.
  • You will provide guidance and training to development staff portal, web content and other technologies.
  • You will develop and enhance the existing portfolio of Java applications and channels.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working with enterprise web applications or a minimum of six years of IT technical experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Position Criteria:
  • Experience with enterprise level web application administration – Support, development, configuration, maintenance, disaster recovery, patching,
  • Ability to solve problems, quickly and completely and to communicate solutions clearly to peers, customers and management.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix Operating System internals; network awareness and literacy.
  • Ability to weigh various suggested technical solutions against business needs and choose the most effective solution, given technical merits, cost considerations, and manageability.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise web architecture and Java based web applications.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to meet or exceed customer service levels. 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise supporting and developing Java-based applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, JSP, JSF, CSS, SQL.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a Java application on a Unix or Linux server.
  • Knowledge of Information Architecture / User Experience concepts and best practices is a plus.
  • Requires the ability to work on and support multiple simultaneous projects of varying scope and scale.
