We are currently seeking an IT Functional Analyst for Manufacturing Execution Systems and Applications to join our Product Operations Center of Excellence (PROCOE). This role will be based at any Eaton facility. No relocation is being offered for this position. If the candidate resides within 50 miles of Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate must work at that site. If the candidate resides more than 50 miles away from Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate will work remote from another US Eaton Facility or an approved home office.

The IT Functional Analyst for Manufacturing Execution Systems and Applications will be responsible to work in a highly matrixed organization spanning domestic and international locations. The IT Functional Analyst will analyze processes and recommend improvements that use capabilities of existing or emerging manufacturing application software. The Functional Analyst is to be the subject matter expert for the design, development and implementation activities of manufacturing execution and information system solutions used across Eaton and will include design, model, configure, and implement functional software and process solutions to meet desired business requirements.

In this role:
  • You will be responsible for in-depth functional & business process knowledge of target applications
  • You will work in partnership with business process owners on requirements, processes, and systems and manage requirements scope & disposition through process compliance & gap analysis, integration testing & user acceptance methodology.
  • You will provide knowledge and input on the system implications of business process changes.
  • You will demonstrate analytical skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
  • You will apply project methodology and governance processes to the change control, system development life cycle and regression testing.
  • You will support end to end processes and has intermediate level understanding of system touch points.
  • You will work with the global governance team to ensure proposed solutions are in-line with global solutions.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree from an accredited university is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of IT experience is required  
  • Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing plant processes and application experience is required
  • Completed 2 or more full life-cycle projects
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Green Belt certification in Six-Sigma
  • PMP certificate
Success Criteria:
  • Ability to understand complex business needs and model solutions using software and process improvements, potentially leveraging multiple software modules and/or solutions.
  • A strong understanding of the relevant business processes that are supported by the software
  • Able to interact with and discuss business process requirements and changes with divisional and regional leadership teams
  • Advanced level of system expertise - gathered through numerous full-life cycle projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of applications' technical capabilities.
  • Intermediate understanding of integration and impact points of involved systems globally for a division or function.
