Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical System and Services Group is seeking a full Fabrication Employee to join our team.   This position will be working at the Edmonton facility on day shift.

 

Under the general direction of the Production Manager and Fabrication Coordinator, this position is primarily responsible for manually painting produced parts using the powder coating system. Additionally, the fabrication employee is responsible for operating equipment and assisting in all stages of the fabrication process.

  • You will inspect painting equipment to ensure it is in safe and operable condition by inspecting critical components and identifying and replacing wearable components as required.
  • You will maintain the daily schedule for painting work by determining upcoming demand by prioritizing own schedule for line of products.
  • You will hang all parts on the paint line using established procedures.
  • You will paint all parts as directed by the fabrication coordinator.
  • You will perform visual inspection on the aesthetics of the paint coat as well as testing paint thickness and adhesion.
  • You will move material between stations when required.
  • You will develop painting skills in less experienced staff by mentoring and training as required.
  • You will perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values as well as the Safety and Environmental Standards.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80 km of Edmonton to be considered.
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.
  • Minimum 6 months of painting experience.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent level of education required from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • In depth knowledge of power tools, fabrication and sheet-metal assembly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication, and listening skills.
  • Demonstrates continuous learning through cross-training, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills.
  • Good analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize in a fast changing environment.
