Job Description

Eaton’s {Insert Division} division is currently seeking a {Insert Title} to join our team. This position is based at ourJuarez facility.

The Master Planner is responsible for the procurement of raw material and components, analyzing and scheduling material requirements for assigned product lines and manages department production schedules. The incumbent interacts with Focus Factor Leaders, Purchasing Agents, Division and other plant location Master Schedulers, and other staff personnel to assure effective and timely materials planning, manpower utilization, and customer satisfaction levels.
 In this role, you will:
  • Review requisitions, purchases orders, expedite purchase orders and notifies departments of the expected delivery date and follow up on back orders, to complete master schedule.
  • Search out alternate vendors or supplies to be prepared in case of material shortages and stock outages, utilizes different vendor sources to fill orders as directed.
  • Meet with vendors seeking to establish relationships with the company, review materials and determine vendor as a source.
  • Act as primary contact with sales/customer service, manufacturing, purchasing & logistics to determine problems and/or developing plans to achieve customer needs.
  • Plan and prepare master schedules for production. Identify material requirements, number of pieces, release dates, shipping dates, availability of production equipment, etc. Advises appropriate parties in the plant and sales/customer services offices by e-mail of schedule changes.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule machine run time in accordance with predetermined time standards, machine capacities, tooling, and other related factors, to obtain the standard hours budgeted by focus factory.
  • To be responsible for the achievement of plant and functional objectives and strategic planning for the Material Management function
  • To lead the plant Materials Planning and Dispatch teams with responsibility for team development and people management, thereby enhancing departmental performance and building organizational capability
  • Responsible for the master production schedule, the scheduling of manufacturing and the external supply base
  • Responsible for the management and improvement of the MRP processes and procedures
  • Responsible for Supplier on time delivery performance in order to achieve business requirements
  • Works closely with the Customer Services function to optimize customer service and packaging / logistics cost-out opportunities
  • Manage inventory (DOH) to meet business requirements
  • Develop Standard Work to direct the daily activities of the Materials Management personnel.
  • Implement defined replenishment strategies within the ERP system to enable optimal execution of MRP and tactical procurement leveraging the full benefits of the ERP system.
  • Lead the supplier development activities for the facility to include supplier on-time delivery performance improvement and cost roadmap development.
  • Assists with profit plan forecasting for following year and drives achievement during current year.
  • Responsible for material planning with the objectives of maximizing on time delivery, optimizing production, cost and inventory levels.
  • Analyses and maintains material classification and master data parameters both raw and finished goods, and where appropriate calculates and implements correct parameters to ensure targets are met, including safety stock levels, lead time etc. achieving item master accuracy.

Required Qualifications:
  • 5 or 7 years of experience in similar position
  • Solid ability to build lasting relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Ability to analyze and organize facts to effectively give project status reports.
  • Trained in lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma related to Supply Chain activities.
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems, AS400, just in time concepts and respective production processes, SAP experience preferred.
