Job Description

Primary responsibility is to lead the global team and position Eaton as the main power supplier to Oil & Gas companies.  The position has direct responsibility for global team consisting of regional leaders, global account managers and a matrixed managed relationship with all business units.


This leader will coordinate globally (internally/externally) to engage with EPCs and end users to drive specification on projects, MRO agreements and service contracts. The cyclical nature of the O&G business requires this leader to manage Eaton’s bottom line with diversified thinking and rigorous approach to project pursuit and strategic accounts.




A key responsibility is strategic business development while monitoring key performance indicators with the O&G Director of Marketing and Finance Manager supporting this global vertical market. Additionally, communciation and collaboration with business unit and regional leadership is paramount.

This individual will focus on promoting Eaton's full portfolio often times capitalizing on one businesses’ strength and leveraging it across the enterprise.  Expertise in upstream, midstream and downstream applications are required in navigating regional, regulatory and environmental challenges. This leader will maintain an overarching vision and responsibility with full engagement throughout the macro project lifecylce (pre-feed to construction).

Maintaining long term strategic EPC and end-user relationships are critical  and built to withstand the ebbs and flows of the market and embed the value of the entire Eaton portfolio.

Measuring large scale capital project wins enables potential long term MRO revenue stream through installed base opportunities; thus reducing likelihood of competitive leakage.

Position requires a continous rigor of strategic account analysis and performance optimizing growth and strategic alignment.  Account evaluation results may necessitate account changes such as realignment and supported by communication internally and externally.


  • College degree required, MBA preferred                                                                           
  • Minimum 15+ years experience in oil and gas and possesses C-level professional relationships
  • Proficient in understanding Eaton's technical products, applications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong innovation and customer centric mindset and background.
  • Has enterprise sales leadership experience or VP/GM-type of background – O&G or heavy industry vertical and strong commercial presence in the field.
  • Product knowledge, solution selling combined with field application expertise in at least three core business unit portfolios                                                                                                                                
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing a clear strategy and delivering growth results.  The successful candidate will have global experience and will have managed complex and decentralized customer buying processes
  • Should have extensive commercial contract negotiation experience
  • Should have previous P&L responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish professional credibility and effective working relationships across the full spectrum of functional relationships across Electrical Sector. (two examplex:  should be able to navigate across the organization to get things done to solve customer challenges – modify products, find creative logistics solutions, etc. or able to manage complex sales cycle across 3 continents and several languages)
  • Incumbent should have strong proven commercial presence and demonstrated enterprise sales leadership skills. 
  • The leader will serve as a positive example to others and champions Eaton's values. Capable of managing, directing, and developing/coaching the team of Sr. Sales leaders.
  • Ability to coach and mentor managers and individual contributors, to build a strong global  team and to motivate individuals and groups to achieve company goals.
  • Independent, motivated/accountable and able to work across the matrix/regions of our business to drive growth
  • Demonstrated the discipline and cadence to evaluate and improve the overall breadth and depth of talent using EBS/APEX/OCA and actively recruiting exceptional and diverse professionals, rapidly developing existing talent, and systematically eliminating underperforming professionals.
