Eaton’s B-Line division, a part of our Electrical sector, is currently seeking a VAVE Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Highland, IL facility.
The VAVE Engineer is responsible for supporting Value Add & Value Engineering products that produce a high profit margin and greater value to our customers.  In this role, you will work cross-functionally with other business areas including Marketing, Sales, and Operations, leading with ambition and enthusiasm in the product design and cost arenas.

  • You will drive innovation from ideation through Six Sigma processes, identification of product adjacencies, identification and execution of cost savings initiatives through Value Add/Value Engineering & product rationalization
  • You will identify and execute cost out projects to drive Value Added Value Engineering (VAVE)
  • You will maintain and upgrade existing products while assisting with third party certifications
  • You will construct product specifications and develop/test prototypes for new product ideas
  • You will partner with quality assurance to establish product quality standards consistent with the needs of the market
  • You will create and execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
  • You will generate and maintain project development plans

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date on or before December 2019.
  • Minimum of 1 year engineering experience (internship acceptable) with a preference in product development and design
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Highland, IL, will be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to develop clear 2D drawings
  • Solid modeling experience
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience working in a global business environment
  • SAP Knowledge
  • SolidWorks Experience
  • Value Add/Value Engineering (VAVE) experience
