Eaton’s Vehicle Group is currently seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to join our team! This position is based at our Galesburg, MI facility.
The Senior Engineering Specialist is responsible for leading the strategy definition and deployment of Red X, as a problem solving methodology for the Vehicle Group.
In this role, you will Support Red X methodology for Eaton Corporation. Drive the proper use of Red X processes, tools and techniques in the Vehicle Group. Improve overall business results linked to engineering and operations goals. Support Vehicle Group objectives through problem solving activities related to product development and quality and aligned to the Vehicle Group business plan. Advise leadership in problem strategy definition.

You will assist the improvement team in problem solving strategy deployment.
You will follow tests related to problem solving efforts, adjusting the strategy, if necessary.
You will coach Red X Apprentices, Journeymen, and Champions in business problem resolutions and organization capability development.
You will recommend, develop, and implement improvements of Red X program methodologies with the Red X core team.
You will select, recommend and prepare future Red X candidates.
You will provide technical and statistical expertise to Red X practitioners (Apprentices and Journeymen) and other improvement teams as required by Project and Quality teams.
You will transfer technical learning across Eaton groups, business areas and improvement teams, through project leaders, improvement teams, mentoring, and leadership of critical projects.
You will align Red X methodology to other management tools, methodologies and systems, such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DFSS, quality management system or other enterprise management tools.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering plus ten (10) years of Engineering experience in the field of manufacturing and product engineering or a related field or role.
Experience must include seven (7) years of experience in coaching engineering related projects leveraging the following: data analysis, lean principles, Six Sigma, DFSS, and Red X. Position also requires Six Sigma Master Black Belt certification, DFSS Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification, Shainin Master Red X certification.
Travel required up to 30% both international and domestic.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
