Quality Engineer – Manufacturing Process

Eaton’s Hydraulic division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Reynosa facility.
The Quality Engineer  is responsible to manage process quality at cell level, responsible for monitoring and controlling process quality as well as developing and driving actions plans for Quality improvements. Leads in-line rejects and process quality issues investigation and responses. Support Continuous improvement activities; ensure product flow consistent with established industry standards, government regulations and customer requirements.

Some activities related with the position will be:
  1. Lead Customer response through PPAP, 8D, controls Plan, Return Material Authorization (RMA)
  2. Perform Quality Process and Quality System Audits on cell in charge and upload the appropriate reports to the Quality system site as required.
  3. Perform capability studies to process validation (tools/fixtures). Statistical studies such as GR&R, CPK, SPC, etc
  4. Lead Problem solving activities using Core Tools such as DOE, ERPS, 5Why’s, etc.
  5. Collect and track FTQ, Internal process Audits and trigger reaction on process quality issues.
  6. Review and approve MPS, ECO (When apply).
  7. Take actions related to Warranty Failures related with the manufacturing process.
  8. Disposition of Material Review Board (MRB) in floor shop.
  9. Support to new Product Introduction with PROLaunch, APQP.
  10. Follow up, develop and deploy 8D and DPR’s when apply.
  11. Participate in all High Performance Team activities/meetings related.
  12. Oversees all activities are met under ISO/TS16949 requirements.
    Support and/or participate on Continuous Improvement Activities such as: Kaizen, Ideas Programs, cost out  improvements in goals year over year in our processes or practices aligned to achieve or business goals and/objectives to achieve or business

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • 3 years of experience in Process Quality and Customer Contact.
  • Experience on machining processes are a plus
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Knowledgeable on problem solving methodologies and Quality Core Tools
  • Statistical Minitab software.
  • ISO/TS Quality Standards
  • Six Sigma Green Belt (ERPS Knowledge is a plus)
  • Planning  and PFMEA
  • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Analytical / Statistical Tools & Methods The knowledge of a wide range of problem solving tools and methods, including statistics, combined with the ability to select and apply them to make data based decisions to sustain higher levels of process or product quality.
  1. External Requirements: The competency of knowledge, practice and application of the Product / Process and Quality System standards of the International Certification Bodies, Industry specific Regulatory Authorities and Customers contractually specified Quality Requirements.
  1. Inspection & Testing: The ability to use proven tools, techniques, and methodologies to inspect products, measure process performance, perform product verification and validation testing, and to provide feedback reporting as required.  This competency is utilized within the framework of the measurement, analysis and improvement aspects of the quality management system
  1. Product/Process Quality Planning: Product/Process Quality Planning (Advanced Quality Planning; AQP) is the ability to strategically define the Critical to Quality elements of a product/process, and the knowledge to effectively analyze, assess and mitigate the risks associated with any potential failures..
  1. Quality Leadership: Quality Leadership is the knowledge of quality management systems and support practices.  This competency includes the ability to efficiently and effectively assess performance, set strategy aligned with the business and use metrics to drive continuous improvements
