Job Description

Eaton’s Residential Wiring Devices division, a part of our Electrical sector, is currently seeking a Facilities Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Lincoln, IL facility.
 
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for coordinating plant maintenance at the Lincoln facility.  In this role, you will work with engineering to ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and machines are in a safe and productive condition.

  • You will participate in understanding and adhering to OSHA, FM Global, MESH and EPA regulations and ensure that equipment, processes, and grounds meet all requirements
  • You will serve as the subject matter expert for methods and processes related to powder coat painting
  • You will stay current on “state of the art” equipment and maintenance techniques, including energy management processes and recommend replacement equipment as needed
  • You will arrange for and manage the performance of outside contracting services for building additions/improvements, equipment installation, and abnormal maintenance, ensuring that they are trained in all safety matters and that insurance coverage certificates are on file
  • You will assist in the hiring of maintenance personnel by providing input into the evaluation and training of new employees and apprentices
  • You will monitor energy usage and recommend energy saving techniques to top management through oversight of energy audits and maintaining energy conservation reports
  • You will manage fork truck fleet vendor by reviewing usage, repairs, and recommending improvements

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with environmental health and safety standards
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the electrical and mechanical fields, equipment and machine design, building and plant maintenance techniques
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution 
  • Experience with high-volume powder coating
  • Experience with understanding and adhering to ISO 14001 and 9001 standards
  • Knowledge in structural and architectural matters
  • Administrative knowledge in company policies, procedures, and budget control

  • Ability to act as facilities maintenance manager when needed.
  • Ability to analyze trends and suggest improvements where needed
  • Ability to problem solve and apply changes in a timely manner
  • Strong inter-personal skills
