National Accounts Manager - Western Region

Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical Products Group is currently seeking a National Accounts Manager-Western Region to join our team.

The National Accounts Manager is responsible for:

Developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategy to generate profitable sales to all National Account end users on for all lighting and controls products.  Effective communication and execution across multiple functions of the organization is required to facilitate achievement of strategic goals.

In this role you will:

  • Generates national accounts business by identifying, targeting and aggressively pursuing potential large end-users.

  • Works closely with end users and national account distributors to develop a viable business relationship and ensure that lighting provides quality goods and services which will meet the customer's changing needs.

  • Must keep abreast of all new lighting and control products and product improvements in efforts to continually meet the customer's needs.

  • Develops and recommends an annual and multi-year sales plan and forecast for regional national accounts business to support national objectives.

  • Develops and continually monitors and analyzes national account regional market conditions and informs the Director of National Accounts of national accounts business status, product trends and competitive conditions.

  • Recommends new or modified marketing strategies, programs and products to assure a competitive market position is maintained.

  • Develops and maintains liaison with the appropriate management personnel of national accounts customers and distributors


Working from a home-office or Eaton facility in the Western Region of the US

Eaton has announced its intent to spinoff its Lighting Business into publicly traded company (“SpinCo”).  This transaction is expected to be completed by the end of 2019 and this position is expected to remain with SpinCo.   The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton’s plans, programs and practices.  The Lighting Business is in the process of developing its total rewards philosophy, strategy and structure, including the design of its benefits and annual and long-term incentive plans that will take effect when SpinCo becomes a publicly traded company. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Lighting Business when SpinCo becomes an independent, publicly traded company, you will be eligible to participate in SpinCo’s compensation, health, welfare, and retirement benefit plans and programs and should have no expectations that SpinCo’s plans and programs will mirror or be substantially similar to Eaton’s.


Required (Basic) Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

  • A minimum of 8 years sales management experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in sales management capacity in an electrical products industry

  • Must be eligible for work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration from an accredited institution

  • A minimum of 8 years national accounts sales management experience

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the lighting industry

  • Candidate resides in a major metropolitan area in the Western Region (CA, OR, WA, NV w/CA preferred)

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time
