Join Eaton’s Information Technology IT team and help positively impact our business through leading technologies, exciting and challenging enterprise projects and new platforms.  We are currently seeking an IT Job Scheduling (Control M) Specialist to join our Infrastructure Center of Excellence.  This position is based at our Beachwood, OH or Moon Township, PA facility.  The primary function of this position is to provide end user support, support enterprise batch job management, and ensure compliance with all of Eaton's policies and procedures independently by working on remedy requests and projects to create/modify jobs in Control-M (job types include – Oracle OEBS, SAP, AFT, command-line, Hadoop etc.)  Our customers include all of Eaton’s users (local and remote).

  • You will help set strategic direction for Enterprise Job Scheduling. 
  • You will recommend, design, develop and consistently deliver best-in-class solutions for Job Scheduling requirements.
  • You will demonstrate a broad awareness of Job Scheduling industry trends, best practices, and technology capabilities, as well as specific awareness of our Primary Scheduling tool (Control-M).
  • You will study, investigate and recommend new or leading edge technologies, methods, tools and procedures in the fields of quality assurance and continuous improvement to proactively address changes in the business environment.
  • You will be responsible for the compilation and publication of measurements and statistics relative to job scheduling to assist management in effective decision-making.
  • You will be a key contributor for enterprise job scheduling team compliance  to ITIL standards (Change, Request, Incident, Problem, Project Management)
  • You will represent enterprise job scheduling in project initiation and estimation meetings to allow for evaluation of project requirements and to assist in determining required scheduling resources for any given project.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on Scheduling tool- Control-M (v8/ v9)
  • No relocation offered; candidate must reside within 50 miles of Beachwood, OH or Moon Township, PA sites
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preferred degree in Computer Science or related field, along with ~5+ years of job scheduling experience.
  • Mainframe experience
Position Success Criteria :
  • Strong understanding of ITIL disciplines, especially Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management
  • Functional understanding of Project Management tools such as Work Breakdown Structures, Prioritization, and reporting, to ensure EJS staff delivers their work in conjunction with the overall Project Plan.
  • Ability to design and analyze multiple applications and schedule jobs in all time zones of the world, across all platforms, in multiple job flows, to promote business growth and continuity reduce manual effort. 
  • Broad exposure to and understanding of all IT that these teams will be responsible for: including but not limited to:  Unix/Linux OS and hardware; Mainframe OS and hardware; AS400 OS and hardware; Windows OS and hardware; ERP Systems (SAP, Oracle, MFG/Pro, MAPICS, etc.); BIG DATA Analytics application (Hadoop); File Transfer and Web Services protocols (SOA, Sterling Integrator AFT); Job Scheduling packages (Control-M; Redwood, CA-7, OPC, Robot, CA Workload Manager)
