Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical division is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility.
 
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for implementing Lean Manufacturing concepts, including Value Stream Map evaluation of current state production opportunities and the implementation of future state throughout all areas of operations.

  • You will deploy Lean Tools as appropriate
  • You will evaluate current and future state manufacturing processes and ensures that sound engineering and manufacturing principles are being followed
  • You will prioritize safety and repeatability of existing processes, addressing identified concerns
  • You will recommend changes to existing manufacturing processes to improve manufacturing productivity and improve lean flow of materials
  • You will document manufacturing processes with work instructions
  • You will generate and implement Engineering Change Notices enhancing product quality and reducing product cost
  • You will initiate, develop and manage capital improvement projects including manufacturing equipment, facility enhancements and new product start-ups
  • You will drive continuous improvement on the shop floor, including opportunities to improve Quality, Productivity, and cost reduction
  • You will manage and complete multiple projects on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • You will support multiple product lines and a wide variety of assembly processes

  • You will drive NPI activities in assigned work cells (layouts, materials, costing)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 60 mile radius of Raleigh, NC will be considered.
Position Criteria:
  • Knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes including assembly and pull systems.
  • Technical understanding and experience with Lean Manufacturing Systems and Six Sigma methodology.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineer, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Experience with MRP systems (SAP)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with  Microsoft Project
  • AutoCAD system experience
  • Lean/Six Sigma/CI Certifications
  • Electrical Industry Experience
