As NPI Manager - Airframe Fuel Pumps and Valves, you will be responsible for effective leadership, administration, and professional direction of the site’s New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This individual will be responsible for short and long-range product development and to improve reliability, performance, and cost for existing product lines through sound execution of engineering principles and processes. Accountabilities under this individual’s direction are all phases of new product development through qualification including Proposals, Preliminary Design, Critical Design, and Verification..
Your main duties :
  • Leads an engineering team to deliver high quality technical deliverables on time.  Maintains a culture of accountability. Provides technical advice and guidance to this team. Creates opportunities for growth and development and improves employee satisfaction, product expertise, etc.
  • Utilizes EBS tools and processes to drive predictive performance on Airframe Fuel Pumps and Valve product development activities. Practices industry best practice processes and tools for engineering tasks.  Monitors team to assure adherence to defined processes.
  • Leads execution of New Product Introduction activities leveraging ACES and ProLaunch processes, methodologies, and deliverables across the Airframe Fuel Pumps and Valves engineering function.
  • Assigns and Manages NPI resources to ensure productivity, on-time delivery and first-pass quality of engineered products and deliverables.  Monitors key engineering metrics and implements improvements accordingly.
  • Develops and fosters close professional relationships with customers and industry partners supporting proposal and new product development activities through completion of product qualification and introduction to production.
  • Leads proposal efforts including generation of Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) estimates, Bills of Material for Recurring Cost (RC) estimates, and Capital Acquisition Requests for Airframe Fuel Pumps and Valves products.
  • Accountable to execute NPI projects within the program milestone schedule and budget.
  • Leverages relationship across business functions including Program Management, Engineering Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing/Operations, etc. to achieve successful on-time product launch.


What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.  Advanced degree/MBA preferred. 
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in new product development; ideally has experience engaging with external research/IRAD funding organizations
  • A minimum of 3 years in a Leadership or Manager position
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, experience with design processes and program management skills, successful new product introduction experience. 
  • Ability to develop and execute new product development plans.
  • Experience with engineering processes/tools required
  • Experience supporting product development and sustainment programs required
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication presentation skills and the ability to work well with customers and development team members
  • Train and develop engineers
  • MS in engineering and/or business management is desirable;
  • Experience with Aircraft fuel systems or products is preferred;
  • Experience and Familiarity with Aircraft Fuel System Certification and Qualification Test requirements is preferred.
  • Six Sigma for Design and Development (SSDD) or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification is a plus and desirable
