Eaton’s Electrical ESSG Canada is seeking an Operational Excellence Manager to join our team. This position is located in Airdrie, Canada
The Operational Excellence Manager will improve organizational effectiveness through the coordination and deployment of the Eaton Business System to ensure the business meets growth, productivity, and quality objectives.  Specific responsibilities will be Quality Management System (EQS and ISO9001) deployment, Warranty management, Eaton Lean System deployment, and MESH deployment.

  • You will  serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous

  • You will direct the development and implementation of cost, productivity and strategic
  • manufacturing programs consistent with plant objectives.
  • You will identify metrics for key business drivers and reinforce knowledge of them
  • throughout the operations.
  • You will work through the leadership team to lead the development and implementation of the
  • site Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) strategy, actions, and cross-functional activities
  • You will develop, implement and manage a robust cost-out and continuous improvement process.
  • You will support the development and implementation of manufacturing plans to meet
     Facility sales and inventory objectives.

          Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Relocation is not approved , only candidates residing 80 km radius from Airdrie, Canada will be considered.
  • Must be authorized legally to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
  •  4 year Degree from an accredited institution in Manufacturing or Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Business.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations

  • Provides site Lean and Six Sigma training and mentoring.  
  • Drive the Eaton Lean System deployment through training, facilitation and deployment of resources.
  • Influence and drive resources to resolve customer quality issues, escalating issues as necessary.   Coordinate between EESS, Sales, Marketing and plant operations to ensure a systematic process is in place for warranty that maximizes customer response at a minimum cost.
  • Management and plant wide deployment of the EQS (Eaton Quality System). Meet or exceed goals established by Eaton Electrical through internal and 2nd party assessments throughout the calendar year.
  • Conducts Eaton Lean System (ELS) assessments and identifies performance gaps. Works through the leadership team to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps.
  • Provides Operational Assessment (Op A) support across the organization to drive short-term and long-term business improvements.
  • Identify and eliminate process variations resulting in external and internal failures through 8-D corrective action, Six Sigma, ELSS, and other Quality Management System tools and processes.
  • Manage the costs of quality – CONC, warranty, ELSS scores, EQS scores and MESH goals.
  • Report out to the Leadership team on a regular basis regarding quality issues, EQS and ISO 9001.
  • Drive MESH deployment.
  • Plan and direct the manufacturing of facility project orders through the production cycle and the support and maintenance functions related to production activities.
  • Working with the CI Project Manager, plan and oversee cost-out, continuous improvement and capital programs for Supply Chain, manufacturing, facilities and information systems for the Milton facility
  • Facilitate the implementation and reporting of Balanced Scorecard metrics.   Report Balanced Scorecard results to the leadership team.
  • Elements of the health and safety program that are applicable to their job (i.e. machine guarding, lockout, confined space entry, WHMIS).
  • Six Sigma Blackbelt Certification preferred
  • Certified LEAN Trainer
  • Master’s degree preferred in manufacturing or industrial or mechanical or electrical engineering  or business
