Eaton’s Fluid Conveyance Division is currently seeking a Lean Coordinator to join our team. This position is based at our Newbern, Tennessee facility.
The Lean Coordinator will report directly to the Quality/OPEX Manager and will be responsible for supporting the plant in developing and deploying an effective Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) strategy and the Continuous Improvement Framework (CIF) of the Eaton Business System in support of Newbern plant’s objectives.

  • You will partner with the plant team to develop and execute the continuous improvement strategy in the facility and deployment of the Continuous Improvement Framework.
  • You will direct activities to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, Inventory, and Cost utilizing the Eaton Lean Six Sigma methods (ELSS). You will train all employees and deploy Lean tools (5S, VSM, Standard Work, Setup Reduction, TPM, Problem Solving, Material Flow, and Six Sigma).
  • You will conduct training needs assessment associated with ELS and facilitates site ELS tools training for all employees.
  • You will support and facilitate projects such as Kaizen events, business process improvements, and Rapid Improvement Events (RIE) to drive short-term and long term business improvements. You will drive a learning culture by mentoring others in the plant on implementing and sustaining continuous improvement practices through training, activities, employee team(s), etc.
  • You will represent the Newbern Plant in Division Councils or Work Teams as appropriate. Drives best practice sharing and external benchmarking. You will oversee and coordinate production methods and modifications for production efficiency and cost control.
  • You will conduct studies to prepare and recommend new and revised operating procedures to maintain control, improve operations, and foster continuous process improvement. You will conducts ELSS related assessments and identify performance gaps. Works with all levels of the organization to prioritize improvement activities and close gaps.
  • You will communicate and update process changes effectively both verbally and written to all levels within the company using Visual Management Boards and/or database spreadsheets.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.  
  • Minimum 1 year of experience implementing Lean or Continuous Improvement within an organization
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution. 
  • Experience in deploying Lean in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment.
  • Experience utilizing engineering-related computer tools (AutoCAD, or other drafting software).
  • Six Sigma training and/or certification.

Position Success Criteria:

  • Good working knowledge and experience with basic manufacturing tools such as Lean Six Sigma, problem solving/decision making.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interface with teams ranging from staff level to shop floor personnel.
  • Ability to lead by influence, and leverage cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
