Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution Division is currently seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, Maryland facility.
The Senior EHS Specialist responsibilities include supporting EHS activities at the site; performing risk assessments; compliance inspections; design and/or implementation of EHS solutions; internal reporting of EHS performance; communication of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements; closure of MESH and regulatory findings in a timely manner; completion of training for required EHS personnel; and creating a strong zero incident EHS culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

  • You will support the EHS Manager and site for all OSHA compliance programs, including, but not limited to; PPE, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Machine Guarding, Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Industrial Powered Trucks, Contractor safety, and Hazard communication.
  • You will support the EHS Manager in development, maintenance, and achievement of goals in support of corporate and business group EHS strategic initiatives. Including the development of goals for site manager, leadership team, and front line supervisors to drive EHS culture, compliance, and result.
  • You will act as the EHS liaison for the on-site Safety Action Committee by supporting the team champion, developing training, and assisting in site wide efforts. Develop campaigns to promotes zero incident EHS culture throughout site.
  • You will coordinate  the annual MESH self-assessment (evaluation of compliance for EHS country, state, and local regulations ) with EHS Manager and MESH element champions. Supports work station risk assessments, ergonomic assessments, and job safety analysis.
  • You will support the efforts for third party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class. Responsible for using established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism to manage data.
  • You will support the identification, design, implementation of improved safety or environmental measures for work stations, equipment, or other operations in support of continuous improvement.
  • You will support and oversee EHS related capital projects through coordination and review of cost proposals, engineering designs for compliance with regulations, and management of contractors.

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
