Join Eaton’s Information Technology IT team and help positively impact our business by implementing leading technologies and working on exciting and challenging enterprise projects.  We are currently seeking a Security Operations Architect to join our Architecture, Governance & Security Center of Excellence (AGSCOE).  This role will be based at any Eaton facility. No relocation is being offered for this position.  If the candidate resides within 50 miles of Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate must work at that site. If the candidate resides more than 50 miles away from Beachwood, Ohio, the candidate will work remote from another US Eaton Facility or an approved home office.
 
The Security Operations Architect will design, engineer, and implement cyber security solutions to improve Eaton’s technical capabilities, including open source tools and custom development.  As a Security Operations Architect, you will administer, operate, and optimize cyber security technologies, leveraging security and operational best practices.  You will play a key role in the Protect, Detect, Respond strategy to protect Eaton’s intellectual property and brand in a highly complex, global, multi-technology, regulated and diversified business environment.

In this role:
  • You will configure and deploy new hardware-based and software-based security tools that provide network and endpoint security
  • You will provide new capabilities through implementation of open-source applications and development of automation scripts
  • You will tune and optimize existing systems to minimize external threats and meet internal needs, balancing security and operations
  • You will collaborate with Cyber Security Incident Response Team to improve prevention, detection, and response capabilities
  • You will analyze customer requirements and applies enterprise IT security rules
  • You will monitor critical technology platforms for performance, availability, and capacity
  • You will execute ITSM processes (Change, Request, Incident, Problem management) on technical IT systems at the component level
  • You will perform tasks with a schedule that may involve nontraditional working hours

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of IT experience architecting, developing or configuring enterprise applications
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as: B.E / BTech / MCA / Equivalent (EITC) or B.S. Comp Science / Mathematics / Engineering / Equivalent
  • 5 years IT experience in security operations, endpoint security, network security, or a graduate of Eaton's Leadership Development Program
  • Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal). Additional language capabilities are a plus.
  • 10 years of IT experience in information technology
  • Deep understanding of networking, firewalls, DNS, proxy, and VPN
  • 3 years of experience with enterprise-class security technologies (e.g. IPS, IDS, SIEM)
  • 3 years of experience with open source security technology (e.g. Bro, Cuckoo, Elastic)
  • 3 years of experience with scripting and programming languages (e.g. python, java, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Up to 5% travel will be required for this position
