Eaton’s Electrical – AMER – ESSG Canada Division is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team.  This position is located in Airdrie, Canada
 
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of any mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic equipment or components that support the production and facility operations for the LVCA facilities in Airdrie, Canada.

  • You will repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, machines and components.
  • You will build/assemble mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls as required.
  • You will perform preventative maintenance duties.
  • You will maintain service equipment, work area, maintenance tool crib and spare parts inventory.
  • You will  MIG weld or braze broken equipment components
  • You will assist with installing new equipment as required
  • You will move machinery and equipment when required
  • You will coordinate the work of outsourced mechanical contractors performing work for or within the plant
  • You will tool Calibration and others duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Requirements:
  • Grade 12 High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience reading mechanical blueprints/drawings
  • Minimum of 3 years of fabrication and production machinery experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with measurement, machine and hand tools, e.g., grinder, band saw.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operation and maintenance of air compressor systems, air dryers, miscellaneous pumps
  
Preferred (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Master Electrician
  • Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • Previous implementation of a preventative maintenance program
  • Previous implementation of a predictive maintenance program
  • Previous implementation of a tool calibration program
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience reading mechanical blueprints/drawings.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ fabrication and production machinery experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience with measurement, machine, and hand tools, e.g., grinder, band saw.
  • Minimum of 10 year of experience with operation and maintenance of air compressor systems, air dryers, pumps
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience  with lockout-tagout programs
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience troubleshooting/repairing hydraulic equipment
Position Success Criteria:
  • Current Fall protection certification
  • Current Aerial lift certification
  • Previous Forklift certification
  • Previous spill containment training
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience reading mechanical blueprints/drawings.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ fabrication and production machinery experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience  with measurement, machine, and hand tools, e.g., grinder, band saw.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience with operation and maintenance of air compressor systems, air dryers, pumps
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience  with lockout-tagout programs
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with tool calibration
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting/repairing hydraulic equipment
