The major role of GTM Analyst is to ensure the temporary inventory for Cuautitlan plant, meets with all Mexican Customs regulations with an import/export operation and customs transactions performed a year. There are roughly 223 customs requirements per site that this position needs to ensure in order to maintain the current certifications and government programs such as IMMEX, PROSEC, C-TPAT, OEA programs and VAT certification among others. This position is also responsible for maintaining and updating compliance documents to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures/. GTM Analyst is responsible for engagement delivery, customs compliance and quality, productivity and report management, and exception management; as well as reporting metrics or KPIs of their operation in charge.

Be proactive in proposing action plans to the businesses and detecting potential customs issues before the authority detects them, thus reducing the impact on the businesses.
 
  • Ensure for the temporary inventory management of MX sites in charge.
  • Ensure the data integrity of Trade Compliance processes.
  • Ensure the full compliance with New Customs Regulations, military license agreement, Free trade agreements, etc.
  • Monitor the import/export of raw materials, finished goods, equipment, scrap, non-productive material, excess and obsolete (E&O) operation on a monthly basis.
  • Perform audits to the annex 24 (Interfaces, Operation’s Report, I/E Modules, BOM’s, Product Values & Costs, Country of Origin, NAFTA Certificates or Manufacturer Affidavit, Duty Payments,) and maintain this info updated in the system.
  • Inventory Reconciliation performance between Annex 24 and ERP (SAP), including: cycle counts, receiving discrepancies, Inventory adjustments, company losses, Perpetual Inventories, company Sales.
  • Achieve metrics and goals related to Trade Compliance.
  • Ensure the functionality of the annex 24 (11 modules).
  • Responsible for maintaining the electronic or hard copy records for the Customs Operations performed in Mexico such as reports of Annex 31 and  Annex 24.
  • Provide Customs and Trade Compliance support to businesses.
  • Annex 24 management for businesses in charge.
  • Maintain strong communication with all members for businesses in charge.
  • Oversee inventory reconciliation of Fixed Assets vs Import Records (Open Balance).
  • Ability to work with SCM to validate the necessary information of Raw Materials, Identify New products and BOM’s as well as with other departments that need support from the Trade Compliance team.
  • Execute all applicable Mexico import/export compliance processes and procedures in conjunction with various Trade Compliance functions within Eaton and external resources; to enhance the import and export operation.
  • Provide accurate information to VAT GTM team related to the VAT certification including:
  • Temporary inventory conciliations a month
  • Assistance to fix deviations on the temporary inventory
  • Ensure Mexican sites in charge, being in compliance with reporting management, including among others:
  • Sub-manufacturer report
  • Stay up-to-date with the Law and other customs regulations applicable to import and export trade operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Trade Compliance and/or Customs Law.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the aforementioned field.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel audit formulas)
  • Knowledge of Vastera
  • Knowledge of ERP transactions
  • Ability to Implement Customs Software
  • Develop efficient interfaces between ERP and Annex 24
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
