Job Description


Lead the multiple projects related with development of Low Voltage Air Circuit Breakers in accordance with UL and IEC standards to meet market needs, within budget, on-time and with required level of quality. Provide mentorship to team for building knowledge base around ACB Product lines. Drive the culture of innovative problem solving techniques.
  • Demonstrates capability in end to end design & development of low voltage air circuit breaker product line.
  • Collects requirements, performs conceptual design, and completes system / component sizing, modelling and simulation to meet customer specific requirements. Develops and  understands product requirements.
  • Recommends engineering techniques to solve problems considering multiple data points, patterns.
  • Leads multiple projects in collaboration with cross-functional project teams from inception through validation and production implementation, with exposure to senior level management to drive new product development through a phase gate system.   
  • Designs, validates and releases system, sub-system and component level independently as well as through team of senior engineers, engineers and associate engineers.
  • Modifies existing products to support customer, manufacturing, applicable regulatory and industry standard, supporting value analysis and value engineering, while working on projects related with product line support, quality and VAVE.
  • Prepares and executes project plan through technical leadership & expertise and also will be responsible for finding and leveraging EIIC resources to meet successful product launches.
  • Gains exposure to Eaton leaders as the Lead Engineer is responsible for reporting on project status to senior management during portfolio reviews.
  • Gets hands-on laboratory experience. Owns development of test plans for short circuit, temperature rise, etc. in accordance with applicable product standards. Creates test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. Assesses test results, root cause analysis through test findings/failures and takes corrective/preventive actions
  • Builds awareness about learning industry standards like UL, IEC, CCC, etc. while leveraging our internal codes and standards team to ensure product compliance.
  • Performs other duties as required to achieve departmental and division objectives.  This may include flexing to other product line teams.
  • Develop team knowledge of products and technology, and skills in design, simulation, testing, quality and analysis
  • Quantifies and ensures performance margin and drive product design robustness. Utilizes statistical quality tools for making designs cost effective and suitable for manufacture.


Required: Master’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical or electrical from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in design & development of Low voltage Air Circuit Breakers or equivalent electromechanical product lines.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches, realized cost out.
  • Proven track record of intellectual property generation with good number of patents / disclosures.
  • Sound knowledge of IEC/NEMA/UL Standards.
  • Knowledge on Electromechanical & Electronics industrial products.
  • Experience in competitive tear downs and benchmarking for Electrical Products.
  • Familiarity with ANSI, NEMA, UL, IEC and other applicable standards for electro-mechanical products.
  • Thermal experience & electrical product background.
    Special Skills:
  • Proficiency in PLM/ERP tools like Enovia
  • Design For Six Sigma Certified
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and product engineering tools
