Job Description

The major roles of the Global Trade Management (GTM) Analyst are to maintain and update compliance documents to reflect current regulatory requirements and procedures.  The GTM Analyst reports to the GTM Regional Team Leader. The GTM Analyst is responsible for engagement delivery, customs compliance and quality, productivity and report management, and exception management. Within the responsibility of project delivery, the GTM Analyst performs import classification under the Harmonized System, export classification under the EU ECN or other country level systems in the region, free-trade agreement (FTA) qualification and analysis.
 

Execute  FTA solicitation and qualification, ensuring all necessary documentation is retained to ensure full compliance; Ability to fully explain the rules of the FTA to internal customers, detailing why a particular item qualifies or does not qualify for the FTA.

 

Carry out classification projects, including working with engineering and procurement, to ensure Eaton items are properly classified for import and export.

 

Prepare all documentation needed to assist with Pre and Post Entry activities with customs brokers and forwarders, such as responses to customs inquiries, refunds claims, duty recovery submissions, product classification rulings, post entry amendments, and proof of export delivery requests to complete documentation requirements.

Trade support work to include providing certificates of origin, specific FTA documents, and receipt, coding, and arrangement for the loading of GTM vendor receipts for approval.    

Identify situations and events where formal communication is necessary; works with others to consider communication approaches; assists in the development of messaging.

 

Produce reporting for the tasks performed, provide updates to relevant teams and escalate issues where necessary.

Qualifications

3-5 years in trade compliance experience 
Experience should include proficiency in product classification, origination, and valuation skills. Proficiency in EU customs regulations.
Strong knowledge of EU member states import and export regulations, including knowledge of HS classification rules and valuation laws. 
Familiarity with Customs BTI rulings.
Bachelor’s degree required 
English Fluent
German is a plus
Microsoft Suite skills required.
