Job Description


State the primary function or overall purpose of your position.

 

Responsible for Implementing strategies focus around Power Quality Division. Build and leverage synergies between various PQD products. Works closely with teammates from Eaton India Innovation Center (Pune) and various PQD facilities in North America for New Product Developments, Cost  out, sustaining and application engineering projects. Build Organization Capabilities – Hire and development plans for the talents for PQD business division. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define Digitization technology for division working with CoE and product line teams. Define VA road map for division conducting IP landscape, tear down events and competitor benchmarking.

1.  Provides leadership for the team to meet its short and long term goals. Define clear plan to leverage EIIC Lab and Prototype infrastructure to accelerate launches of key NPI/VA programs for division.

  1. Provide leadership to innovate new differentiating products and services. Lead strategic initiatives to improve the timelines and quality of deliverables. Define Digitization technology for division working with CoE and product line teams. Define VA road map for division conducting IP landscape, tear down events and competitor benchmarking.

3.  Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Electrical, control, software and mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering

4.  Synergies and leverage engineering capabilities across groups. Manages department budget and performance to forecast.

5.  Recruits and retain a team of engineers and support staff to provide both local product development and engineering services to the global engineering needs. Train, develop & motivate subordinates to achieve their professional goals & review their accomplishments.

  1. Utilizes DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements
  2. Teach, Mentor and Coach DfX Green belt certifications for EIIC engineering community.
  3. Understand stakeholder requirements and communicate them to other Eaton teams, and act as the liaison for program activities as appropriate.

 

 

 

Impacts new product costs, development expenses, No of release/JIRA, quality, on-time to launch, sales volumes, safety, customer relationships and satisfaction.

Qualifications

·        BE/ME in Mechanical Engineering

·        7 to 12 years of design experience with electromechanical systems.

·        Should have sound knowledge in Electromechanical product development

·        Drive growth in respective team in terms of breadth and depth of capabilities in Electrical and mechanical design as well as adjacent technology areas in product engineering.

·        Sound Analysis Mindset and drive DP maturity to enhance NPI efficacy.

·        Act as a technical mentor and expert tech reviewer in domain. Review and approve design proposals based on requirements/statement of work and present to stakeholders/customers.

·        Continuously develop and enhance the technical capabilities of the teams to provide best in class design in line with present and future business needs.

·        Monitor progress and achievements on projects. Provide timely status and reports to stakeholders.

·        Participate in the creation of technology road map based on Product/COE Strategy globally and deploy them within the group and build organization’s capability.

·        Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the value proposition and quality of the engineering deliverables.

·        Manage and develop talent: identifies, attracts and develop key engineering talent for the organization.

·        Drive employee survey action plans to attain high level of employee engagement & managerial effectiveness.

·        Drive culture of innovation with focus on new patent disclosures and high-impact ideas.
